NON collaborates with legendary guitarist Char! Collaborative art piece appears at event celebrating Char's "69 = ROCK Year"

A collaboration has been decided between “OUI OU” (We You), an upcycling brand produced by Non, and legendary guitarist Char.

OUI OU is based on the concept of “Life with your favorite idol,” where you can always spend time with your favorite idol. The project involves upcycling the stage costumes and casual clothes of artists into one-of-a-kind artworks by creators, and has already realized two projects: “NON, Kiyoshiro Imawano, and Reiichi Nakaido “CHABO” 2022 WINTER COLLECTION” and “2023 SPRING COLLECTION @ ARABAKI ROCK FEST.”

In addition, a collaboration has now been decided between OUI OU and Char’s 69th Year Exhibition POP UP (June 11th-15th @ INSPIRATION CULT BAR&GALLERY, Shibuya, Tokyo), which will be held to commemorate Char, the guitarist who continues to lead the Japanese rock scene, turning 69 years old (a rock year) in 2024.

This project will be the first event where OUI OU will collaborate with a solo artist away from Non’s own costumes.

More than 100 art pieces, such as “sacoche” and “lipstick cases,” which have been popular at previous OUI OU events, will be exhibited and sold at the venue.

For this collaboration, Char’s favorite “clasp purse” will be added to the lineup, and a “guitar strap” that has been upcycled into an artistic design will also be released.

Char was sympathetic to the concept of OUI OU, the upcycling brand that I produce, and this collaboration came to fruition.
We are very happy and honored to be able to celebrate the 69th (ROCK) year of Char, a big guitarist and artist whom we admire, through our involvement as OUI OU.
The various costumes worn throughout Char’s career that have been upcycled and turned into works of art are all rock, unique, sexy and so typical of Char, and they all have a weight of history to them.
With Char’s ideas in mind, we added clasp bags and guitar straps, creating a lineup that will allow you to feel even more of OUI OU’s theme of “always being with your favorite artists.”
