Sho Sakurai learns about Mt. Aso with Kumamon’s guidance! Traveling to Kyushu for 1 night and 2 days on “SHOW Channel Adult Social Studies Field Trip Special” to be broadcast tomorrow

■First variety show to infiltrate a global semiconductor company!

“SHOW Channel Adult Social Studies Field Trip Special” broadcast on December 30th at 2:00 pm will feature Sho Sakurai, Shinichi Hatori, Eiji Kotoge, and Takashi Yoshimura going on a 2-day, 11-night trip to Kyushu.

■Just like the Warring States period! The truth about Japan’s oldest castle, Yoshinogari ruins
The first stop on the 1-night, 2-day trip is the Yoshinogari Ruins, which attracts around 700,000 tourists annually and attracts attention as a representative ruin from the Yayoi period. Even the director, Sakurai, who is infiltrating for the first time, and Yoshimura, who is usually an enthusiastic history buff, seem confused and say, “I don’t understand the Yayoi period at all.”

Meanwhile, Hatori couldn’t contain his excitement and said, “Yayoi is great. It’s the most mysterious era,” as he explained the highlights of the ruins in a flying manner. Kotoge told me, “I’ll tell you after I go,” and I sneaked inside.

When everyone arrived at the village, they were shocked to see the entrance. The village is surrounded by a wooden fence, and has an unassuming atmosphere, as if it were fighting off a foreign enemy. In fact, it is said that wars often broke out during the Yayoi period, and the Yoshinogari ruins, which had a defensive function to protect the village from foreign enemies, was selected as one of Japan’s top 100 castles as the oldest castle.

Sakurai, who was imagining the “Yayoi period = idyllic rice-growing landscape,” said, “The image of Yayoi is completely different!” On the contrary, he became gap-moe (?). I was quickly drawn into the mysterious charm of the Yayoi period.

The area called “South Inner Ward” where the leaders of the village lived is said to be full of state-of-the-art equipment said to have been brought over from China during the Three Kingdoms period, such as a “watch tower” and “Umadashi” for keeping an eye on the surrounding area. Yoshimura of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms was also excited, saying, “The knowledge from when the Romance of the Three Kingdoms was fiercely fought has arrived here!” which was a complete change from the opening. They will also learn about the great discovery of the century that was discovered at the Yoshinogari ruins 31 years ago, overturning conventional wisdom.

The “Northern Inner Wall”, where the most important people lived, is a space that is more strictly protected than the South Inner Wall, with “staggered entrances and exits” similar to the Sengoku period, so that it cannot be easily broken through. . The “Main Shrine” that stands in the center is a prestigious place where village leaders are said to have gathered and held meetings. When Sakurai and his friends step into the place, what awaits them are the leaders and that person holding a meeting in a solemn atmosphere!?

What exactly did the village leaders discuss at the main shrine? And why was this Yoshinogari ruins called Yamataikoku? What is the truth about the Yayoi period revealed after 2,000 years?

Furthermore, we will also infiltrate a “mysterious area” that is currently being excavated. What happened after that big news that made headlines last year? And Sakurai and his friends will also excavate new ruins!?

■Learn about the Aso Caldera, the symbol of the Land of Fire, at Mt. Aso in Kumamoto!
On the second day, the group visited Mt. Aso, a popular tourist destination in Kyushu that is visited by more than 1 million people a year. The main attraction is the world’s largest caldera, which was created by an eruption 90,000 years ago. Its size is 25 km from north to south and 18 km from east to west.

When Sakurai and his friends arrive at Aso Caldera, the symbol of the Land of Fire, Kumamoto’s star Kumamon welcomes them. The group learns from the cheerful Kumamon, “What is a caldera?” and then learns about the mechanism of caldera birth at the attached “Aso Volcano Museum,” before heading to the crater of Mt. Aso.

Mt. Aso, which continues to be volcanically active, has many craters within its large caldera, and it is one of the few places in the world where you can see the active craters up close. Looking down at the crater as it gushes out, Sakurai and his friends are overwhelmed by the power of it, exclaiming, “There’s so much gushing out!”

Then, the emergency situation that can only be expected from an active volcano hits the four people, saying, “This is dangerous!” and “Is this really happening?!”

Afterwards, everyone was exposed to the mysteries of Mt. Aso, witnessing rare scenery created by the eruption that could not be imagined as being on Earth, and seeing a gigantic eruption that shows the ferocity of the eruption. Furthermore, they learned the secrets of Mt. Aso that they didn’t know, such as “Did Kyushu develop due to the eruption of Mt. Aso?”, “Why is there a city inside the caldera?”, etc., “It was really interesting”, “I can feel the power of the earth “Yes,” he said, very satisfied.

Then we took a bus to our next destination, a popular lunch spot in Aso. The four of them are good friends even when the cameras aren’t rolling. As we were laughing and remembering the fun things that happened last night, the bus arrived at our destination in no time. It is a very popular spot for dairy products, and people can’t stop asking for second helpings of the exquisite milk produced by Aso. Furthermore, the latest Aso gourmet food will also appear.

■Start your trip to the most popular hot spring resort in Kyushu!
TSMC is a global semiconductor manufacturer originating from Taiwan. It is by far the leading company with a 60% global share in the manufacturing of semiconductors used in all kinds of electronic devices such as smartphones. Sakurai and his group come to Kikuyo Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, where a semiconductor bubble is booming due to the opening of the Japanese factory, and they infiltrate TSMC’s Japanese factory for the first time on a variety show.

What exactly is a semiconductor? What is the next generation of amazing semiconductors? Furthermore, why did TSMC become the world’s top company? In fact, through the explanations of “that guy” who is knowledgeable about semiconductors, you will be able to thoroughly learn about the semiconductors that are running the world today, although you may not be able to listen to them now.

The end of the trip was to Kurokawa Onsen. On the train, the show’s customary “Hungry Quiz” was a big hit.

Kurokawa Onsen is a popular hot spring resort, but until just a few decades ago, Kurokawa Onsen’s name wasn’t even on maps. This unknown secret hot spring has now become a major hot spring town visited by more than 1 million people a year. The four of us immediately split into two groups and climbed up to six hot springs, each with a different quality of water. Work up a sweat in the open-air bath with a spectacular view, and then enjoy delicious Kumamoto gourmet food together.

Looking back on this trip while having a drink, Sakurai said, “We’ve been meeting at a really good pace, and we’ve been spending a lot of time together on location, so we’ve become closer and closer.” Sakurai is very happy with the location shooting as a group of four close friends.

Each of them looked back on the past year and shared unforgettable memories from the year-end and New Year holidays.
We talk about next year’s resolutions in a drunken mood.

“SHOW Channel Adult Social Studies Field Trip Special” will be broadcast from 2:00 pm on December 30th.
