“Horigoto of the Apothecary” depicts a story in which Maomao, a pharmacist’s daughter with an abnormal obsession with poison and medicine, and Jinshi, a mysterious and beautiful eunuch, take on difficult cases that occur in the imperial court. It’s getting a big response.
This opening theme also incorporates the world view and mystery of the imperial court, which is the setting, into a pop tune, and combines the lyrics that Ikuta wrote while thinking about the main character, Maomako, with his own thoughts.

I felt the response to the first season, so I’m very honored to be asked to perform the opening theme for the second season. I felt the excitement of becoming more and more immersed in “Yakusha no Horigoto” and my love for the story and characters, and I felt a sense of urgency to deliver a song that would breathe new life into the world of the work. I was able to produce it.
“Hyakka Ryoran” was created in such a way that the whimsical and charming parts of the main character, Maomako, the worldview of the glittering and glamorous inner palace, and the mysteries that occur there could be expressed through the sound and melody of the song. I wrote the poem by linking my own experiences with Maomao, whose world and scenery expand even further after jumping into an unpredictable development, so please take a look at it along with the world of the work. is.
