■“I think this movie (Muromachi Burai) is, in a sense, the story of the growth of Saizo (played by Kento Nagao).” (Hiroshi Oizumi)
From the movie “Muromachi Burai” (released on January 17th) starring Hiroshi Oizumi, new scene photos of “Saizou” played by Kento Nagao (Naniwa Danshi) have been released.
Saizo (Kento Nagao) is a young man who is alone and in despair, but by chance, he gains overwhelming skill in swordsmanship and an ambition to reform the world, and has the freedom to swim in a devastated era. He is picked up by a person named Bei Hasuda (Hiroshi Oizumi).
Saizo was ridiculed for falling into a dirty river, his green tattered clothes soaking wet, and from then on, he was nicknamed “Frog.” The story of Saizo, played by Kento Nagao, begins with “Frog”, encounters Hyoe and Roshi (Akira Emoto), risks his life to train in hellish stick techniques, goes through various battles, and finally acquires “invincible stick techniques”. It is depicted as a story of his growth to become the “strongest,” which he named “the strongest.”
“I’ve always wanted to play a role like a hero someday and try my hand at action,” said Nagao, speaking about his fondness for Saizo. “He has an innocent side, but he also has a strong heart and is a bit calm.He is an honest boy who has honest feelings about various things,” said Saizo, who understood the role and approached the role. In the scene in which he appears, Kento Nagao’s face and clothes are so stained that it is impossible to tell that he is him at first glance.
However, as Oizumi, the lead actor, says, “In a sense, I think this movie is a story of Saizo’s growth,” as the story progresses, he grows both physically and mentally through his encounter with Hyoe. It’s a must-see to see Iku Saizo’s face and demeanor change over time.
Oizumi said, “I felt that Saizo and Nagao-kun were a perfect match. It was truly thrilling to watch Nagao-kun become more and more cool. The costumes and make-up team were also really great, and they kept getting better and better.” His appearance changed, and Nagao’s acting changed accordingly,” he said, praising Nagao’s appearance, which became unmistakable and fearless as the role grew.
Furthermore, Shinichi Tsutsumi, who plays the role of Doken Otsudera, a great actor with a reputation for action, also gives his approval to Nagao, who successfully completed the most difficult action as a character who makes full use of the strongest stick techniques. “Long action actions (using sticks, etc.) are really difficult. He did difficult things over and over again. And it has to be done vividly, not just because it’s done. It’s only when you can do it that you can do it.If I told you to do just that, like kicking up with your feet and holding a stick, you might be able to do it, but doing it in a flow seems easy, but it’s really difficult.” By taking on the challenge of action, he has grown to the point where he can impress even the best actors.
“Nagao-kun, who is only 20 years old, ended up giving me a sense of the personality of the character I played when I was 50 years old.” I thought, “Wow, Nagao-kun,” at first. It’s really child-like and cute, but in the end I thought it was really cool,” Oizumi said, praising it highly.
You can’t take your eyes off Kento Nagao for a moment during the screening, as he tells the story of Saizo’s growth from his beginnings as a “frog,” to his transformation into the “strongest” man with no rivals in battle.
