Behind-the-scenes photos have been released from the film “Unsayable Secret” (released June 28th), in which SixTONES’ Kyomoto Taiga plays the sole lead role.

■Director Hayato Kawai, Taiga Kyomoto, and Kotone Furukawa have strong feelings about “Secrets We Can’t Tell”. And what is the reason for Director Kawai’s tears?
Director Kawai, who helmed this film, is active as a director across a range of genres, having worked on films such as “Kaguya-sama: Love is War” (2019, 2021), “The Prime Minister’s Husband” (2023), and “Substitute Chushingura” (2024) in recent years alone, as well as television dramas and streaming dramas.

As for “Unspeakable Secret,” Director Kawai, who has worked on numerous romance films, was chosen to helm the film, as he was recognized for his ability to elevate a strong storyline into a solid entertaining piece of work.

Regarding Kyomoto Taiga and Furukawa Kotone, who played the central characters of the story, Minato and Yukino, Director Kawai commented, “Minato is a life-sized college student, but he is also a traumatized student, so he has a dark side. Kyomoto-kun is a really wonderful actor who can play that naturally,” and “I thought Furukawa-san was best just the way she is from the beginning. Her unique aura matched well, and she played Yukino as mysterious and charming.” Looking back on filming with Kyomoto and Furukawa, he said, “They prepared well before filming, so there were almost no difficulties.”

At the recent preview screening, Director Kawai revealed a “secret” that he couldn’t reveal on set: “There was actually a scene where I just started crying while watching the monitor.” He explained the reason for this, saying, “The pure feelings that Minato and Yukino have for each other, their pure love, were so vividly conveyed through the monitor that I couldn’t help but shed tears.”

Kyomoto and Furukawa’s acting overwhelmed even Director Kawai, who has worked on many romance films. In the newly released photos, the three of them stare intently at the monitor, conveying their feelings about the film.

Director Kawai tried to portray the characters carefully, getting close to their delicate feelings, and Kyomoto and Furukawa responded by perfectly embodying their respective characters. Be sure to check out their performances in this film.
