■The DASH Island telephone project involves bamboo, charcoal, scrap aluminum sheets, etc. Can we run a 700m electric cable using materials gathered on a deserted island?
The 2-hour special “The! Iron-Armed! DASH!!” broadcast on June 9th at 7pm will be held during “Good For the Planet Week,” a time to think about what is good for the planet.
DASH Coast heads to the mysterious Tokyo Submarine Canyon. They aim to capture the “King of the Deep Sea” with the biggest trap in the history of the coast. The telephone project on DASH Island has been a fierce battle for 111 days. Can they make a telephone using only materials from a deserted island?
■DASH Beach challenges the “King of the Deep Sea” with the biggest trap in history!
The four participants, Shigeru Joshima (TOKIO), Shintaro Morimoto (SixTONES), Taichi Masu (Assistant Professor at Doshisha University), and Hisashi Kimura (Marine Environment Specialist), visited the mysterious Tokyo Submarine Canyon, a vast valley that stretches deep into the sea of Tokyo Bay.
An extensive investigation into the deep sea, known as “Earth’s final frontier.”
Morimoto: “The deep sea is romance. A man’s romance.” The targets are the rangers who are working hard to keep the deep sea environment clean, the “deep sea idols” who are also very popular with children, and the gigantic “kings of the deep sea” that can grow up to 3 meters.
In order to find out his true identity, they set the biggest trap in the history of DASH Beach. However, this challenge is a big gamble…? The four of them struggle with their life-risking mission, where one wrong step could drag them to the bottom of the sea.
Will you be able to encounter the idol and king of the deep sea? And will a Japanese master turn what you catch into a pork cutlet sandwich? It will be transformed into a delicious “Trontron” meal.
Jojima: “Oh my! I’m glad I was born an adult!” Morimoto: “Wow, so adult! This is so good!”
■111 days of fierce battle, the deserted island telephone project. Can they connect 700m of wire?
A new challenge after 111 tumultuous days: the DASH Island Telephone Project.
Can we make a phone that allows us to contact each other freely using only materials found on a deserted island? The materials for the phone are bamboo, charcoal, scrap aluminum sheets, etc., all things that were gathered on the deserted island. Working with Taichi Kokubun (TOKIO), Morimoto was stunned and asked, “Is this going to be a phone?!”
The goal of the telephone project was to be able to make a call between the boathouses and the ropeway’s terminus, 700 meters away. But that meant connecting a 700-meter-long electric wire through the air…
DASH’s most skilled tree climber, Kusama Richard Keita (Ae! group), finds himself in big trouble after an unexpected accident!? The “Grand Kusama Circus” is formed for the first time in a long time!? What is the “Rambo Operation” that Taichi comes up with to get through the forest where the electric wires are blocking their path…?
Shigeru Joshima and Masahiro Matsuoka (TOKIO) also rushed to the scene, but will they be able to bring about a “communications revolution” on the uninhabited island, which has been inhabited for 13 years?
“The! Iron-Armed! DASH!! 2-Hour Special” will be broadcast on June 9th at 7pm. Be sure to check it out.
