Anchan struggles with “Karaoke Song Countdown 10” in “Kanadai-san and Chidori-kun”! “It’s so difficult…”

Ano will be making her first appearance on “Tuesday is Full Power! Hanadai-san and Chidori-kun” (Kansai TV/Fuji TV), which will air on June 11th.

“Tuesday is Full Power! Hanadai-san and Chidori-kun” is a variety show in which Hakata Hanamaru and Daikichi, Chidori, and Kamaitachi take on various projects under the theme of “Play with all your might and have fun with all your might!”

This time, Ano will be the guest and will be taking on the challenge of “Win 1 million yen if you can count down the karaoke song 10 times!”. You can predict the 10 songs in a row from the “Top 31 Karaoke Songs of the 90s Sung in 2023” in order of lowest ranking, and win a prize depending on how many you guess. If you can successfully count down the 10 songs, you will win 1 million yen. You can do it again once.

At the opening, Ano confessed that she had gone to karaoke with a certain celebrity, saying, “I don’t usually go to karaoke, but I went the other day for the first time in a while…” When asked if she would sing her own songs, she bluntly replied, “I won’t sing. I don’t want people to sing my (Ano’s) songs.” Then Yamauchi came at her with a straight face and said, “I want you to sing,” which made her take aback.

Before making their predictions, the members looked at the songs on the list of candidates, which included million-sellers representing the Heisei era and karaoke-standard anime songs, and were excited, saying, “Wow! I know them all!” and “I’ve sung them all!” When some of the rankings were revealed as a hint, everyone exclaimed in surprise at the unexpected songs, and even Ano was surprised by a hit song by a female singer, saying, “I thought it would be number one. Girls always sing that.”

The predictions also focused on the age group, with comments such as “It would be fun to sing it at karaoke” (Ano), “A group of middle-aged men and women singing karaoke during the day” (Yamauchi), and “This is a song sung by (a snack bar) hostess” (Hanamaru). When Ano and Yamauchi’s opinions differ, Ano worries that “it will cause a bad relationship between you and Yamauchi,” but Yamauchi takes a strong stance, saying, “Please decide whether you want Ano or Yamauchi.”

Also, the gap between generations was highlighted when Ano commented that “Sometimes people sing a curveball song” when Hanamaru Daikichi thought that the hit song was “right in the middle of their generation.” The predictions were unexpectedly difficult as everyone’s answers varied and on the other hand, everyone gave the same answer. Furthermore, the comedians relied on Ano’s information such as “It was popular on TikTok” and “We sang it in class,” but there was an unexpected pitfall…!?

In the hint chance quiz, they take on the challenge of “Meow Meow Karaoke.” The six participants take turns singing a given song using only the word “meow,” and if they can guess the seven songs being sung within the time limit, they will receive a hint. They start off well and it seems like they will win easily, but as soon as Daigo is chosen as the answerer, things start to look ominous… As they make their top guesses towards the end, the comedians can’t stop reminiscing about the famous songs that were left on the list. Will they be able to win the prize money? And what will the ranking results be?

Q. This was your first time appearing in “Kada-san to Chidori-kun.” How was it?
I’ve been watching this show for a long time and have enjoyed it as a viewer, so I was happy to be able to appear this time. There are various projects, such as spy projects and ranking projects, and it’s interesting that each time is different.

Q. This time we had a karaoke event. What did you think?
It was difficult! I thought, “Wow, it’s so difficult…” At first, I thought I could do it, but as I learned more and more of the rankings, I thought, “Huh?” It was like all my calculations were messed up, and all my readings were messed up, so it was difficult. Daigo-san had a hard time guessing the “Meow Meow Karaoke” in the middle, so it was just fun (laughs).

Q. Please tell us what the viewers should look out for and give us a message!
This was my first time appearing on the show, but it was a really fun project, and I think it will help me decide what songs I’ll sing at karaoke in the future. I learned about the world and the 90s, so I hope my fans will watch it too.
