SEVENTEEN’s MINGYU has been appointed as the first Asian ambassador for body care and hand care for the French cosmetics manufacturer L’Occitane. Unreleased footage from the press event held on May 21st has been released on L’Occitane’s official YouTube channel.

■MINGYU suddenly appears at Shibuya Scramble Crossing!
A press event to celebrate MINGYU’s appointment as Asia Ambassador was held at L’Occitane SHIBUYA TOKYO, a store located at Shibuya Scramble Crossing.

The released video shows MINGYU suddenly appearing at Shibuya’s Scramble Crossing, dressed in a pure white linen shirt and jeans, right up to him heading off to a press event.

After enjoying the products in the newly renovated store, MINGYU climbed the stairs to the cafe on the second floor. Before the press conference began, he was seen enjoying the cafe’s popular menu items, “Immortelle Salad” and “Honey Lemon Tea Soda.”

MINGYU, who is a regular user of hand cream, was also seen using “Shea Hand Cream” to care for her hands before the press conference. It is clear that she maintains beautiful hand skin through careful care.

■Why did MINGYU decide to work with L’Occitane?
In the video, MINGYU says, “I like how L’Occitane contributes to the Earth and people around the world.” He talks about L’Occitane’s recycling program, almond tree planting, and support activities for women in Burkina Faso who make shea butter, and says that his strong connection with L’Occitane’s activities “really made me feel that L’Occitane is sincere to the Earth and nature” was what made him decide to work with them.

The video also shows MINGYU enjoying the view of Shibuya Scramble Crossing from the cafe on the second floor, taking a selfie in the cafe, and smiling and waving to the staff before heading to the press conference. You can enjoy a life-size MINGYU that you don’t usually see.
