Yuzu reveals artwork, track list, and artist photo for new album "Zukan"

■The artwork for the album jacket was created by AMKK (Azuma Makoto, Flower Tree Research Institute), a creative group led by flower artist Azuma Makoto.

Yuzu has unveiled the visual artwork and all the tracks from their album “Zukan,” which will be released on July 31. New artist photos have also been released.

“Zukan” is Yuzu’s 18th original album in about two years, and contains a total of 11 songs, including “SUBWAY” and “Frontier”, which were released digitally in 2023, and “Beautiful”, which became a hot topic as the “Nippon Life Insurance” commercial song, as well as “Jujisei”, the theme song for the ice show “Hyoen 2024 -Jujisei no Kiseki-” starring Daisuke Takahashi, “Chururi”, the “Nissan Sakura” commercial song that became a hot topic for its co-starring in a commercial with Takako Matsu, and “Fusen Kaishuu”, the theme song for the TV Asahi Tuesday drama “Minami-kun ga Koibito!?”.

While covering Yuzu’s musical history to date, the album also “records” their genre-less sound-making and timeless, universal messages, making it a fitting work, worthy of the album title “Illustrated Encyclopedia.”

The artwork for the album jacket was done by AMKK (Azuma Makoto, Kaju Kenkyusho), a creative group led by flower artist Azuma Makoto. The “Botanical Sculpture Classic” series of giant plants, which look as if they have jumped out of a botanical encyclopedia, have been reconstructed with original coloring for this album. The visuals are a high-level fusion of music and artistic expression, and will inspire intellectual curiosity and expectations.

The bonus video included with the first production limited edition includes the full live video of the Osaka Festival Hall performance held on June 2nd in Osaka from the nationwide hall tour “YUZU TOUR 2023 Rita -See you all again-” held in 2023. You can relive the excitement and performance that can only be experienced at a hall live performance where vocalization during the performance has been lifted after overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.

The “Illustrated Book Visual Art Box,” which is available for purchase in limited quantities as a fan club exclusive edition, includes the standard CD album, an acrylic stand with the cover photo of the “Illustrated Book,” a 36-page all-new art photo book, and a special limited edition CD entitled “Appendix.” The limited edition CD will include the song “Appendix,” which was written by Yuujin Kitagawa specifically for this occasion and recorded in a “one-room session” format in a studio.
