≒JOY’s first single “Taiikukan Disco,” released on June 12th, has debuted at number one on both the Oricon weekly single rankings dated June 24th (first week sales of 105,000 copies) and the Billboard JAPAN Top Singles Sales released on June 19th (first week sales of 137,000 copies), with first week sales of over 100,000 copies.

They are the fifth group this year to debut at number one on the Oricon charts with their first single, following ZEROBASEONE, ME:I, Ae! group, and Strawberry Prince, and the second female artist this year and two years ago.
(According to Oricon. This year’s edition starts on December 25, 2023.)

In addition, her first CD album, “Kitto, Zettai, Zettai,” released on January 17th, debuted at number one on both the Oricon weekly album rankings and the Billboard JAPAN Top Albums Sales, making this the first time in about two and a half years that a female artist has had both her first album and first single debut at number one on the Oricon weekly rankings.

“Gym Disco,” in which Ezumi Reon is the center, is an up-tempo youth song. The music video, which is set in a school and tells the story of the members creating a special day beyond the bounds of everyday student life, is also gaining views at a rate approaching 2 million.

Leader Ozawa Manami expressed her joy at achieving this great feat, saying, “We are truly honored and happy to have received such wonderful results for two consecutive albums. We owe it all to everyone who always supports us, so we would like to continue to grow and work hard to deliver our full energy, so please continue to support us.”
