Erika Ikuta’s first lead role in a terrestrial TV drama series, “Subarashiki Ka, Sensei!” (ABC TV), will begin airing in August. A 15-second teaser PR spot has now been released.
The main character, Rio Sasaoka, is a second-year high school teacher. The drama depicts Rio’s struggle for her students while searching for the right time to quit, caught between various human relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
The PR video expresses the worldview of the drama, showing how teachers aren’t just there to stand in front of the classroom. They go on dates, vent their frustrations, and drink to relieve their frustrations…

This work depicts the growth of high school teacher Rio Sasaoka, played by Erika Ikuta, and features many unique characters who symbolize the reality of the educational field. Even teachers are human beings. They have superiors, seniors, and juniors who have both personalities. And the parents that these teachers face.
It will be interesting to see how they become involved in Rio’s struggles.
