A gas explosion occurs at a factory in the national disaster prevention project that Sonobe Shoichi (Tate Hiroshi) was working on. Haruhara (Yamashita Tomohisa) predicts that the explosion was caused by weather.
With SDM’s activities suspended, Haruhara (Yamashita Tomohisa) takes a negative attitude towards SDM. Meanwhile, Aya (Deguchi Natsuki)’s weather analysis reveals the possibility of a dangerous lightning storm.
The ninth episode of the Wednesday 10pm drama “Blue Moment” (Fuji TV, every Wednesday from 10pm to 10:54pm) starring Yamashita Tomohisa will be broadcast from 10pm on June 19th.
“Blue Moment” depicts the story of the members of the Special Disaster Management Office (SDM) who risk their lives to rescue people at the forefront of the disaster, using their wisdom and knowledge to protect the lives of those threatened by severe weather disasters. Tomohisa Yamashita plays the main character, Kankuro Haruhara, who serves as the chief/meteorological researcher of the SDM.
■ Episode 9 Synopsis
An emergency press conference was held after a gas explosion occurred at a factory in the national disaster prevention project that Sonobe Hajime (Tachi Hiroshi) was working on. The explosion of gas, which was said to be a safe and secure energy source, puts Sonobe in a difficult position. Furthermore, a politician named Niijima Motoki (Ito Hideaki) appears, cornering Sonobe and aiming for his position…
Meanwhile, Kankuro Haruhara (Tomohisa Yamashita) and Aya Kumota (Natsuki Deguchi) discover that a typhoon of the strongest class on record, which is expected to evacuate more than 2.6 million people, is approaching eastern Japan. The SDM team gathers the heads of the Crisis Management Division and Disaster Prevention and Crisis Management Department of the Tokyo metropolis and four prefectures and proposes a large-scale evacuation plan, but Tokyo’s head, Eiko Kurata (Kurara Emi), puts the proposal on hold due to the huge damage that would occur if the prediction turns out to be wrong, and above all, because SDM, which is involved with Sonobe, who is at the center of the controversy, will be in charge.
First, in order to dispel the suspicion of the accident, Sonobe visits the area while receiving complaints from residents. Haruhara, Aya, Hiroki Yamagata (Dai Okabe), and Hikaru Maruyama (Sawa Nimura), who share the same thoughts, also come to the scene. Haruhara believes that the cause of the explosion is related to weather, and decides to investigate the case along with the analysis of the typhoon.
Meanwhile, Sonobe Yugo (Mizukami Koji) and Shiomi Sagiri (Kaho) visit Shiga Koichiro (Jinbo Satoshi), the former head of the medical team, to ask for cooperation in coordinating doctors in preparation for the typhoon. As SDM gathers its strength, there are only five days left until the strongest typhoon on record hits eastern Japan…
