Snow Man’s Miyadate Ryota, at the request of SixTONES’ Matsumura Hokuto, brings his home-cooked meal to the set of a drama starring Matsumura

■ “A new door has opened for Miyadate. Please join us in taking that first step.” (Ryota Miyadate)

“Golden One Spoon!” will be broadcast on TBS’s Saturday Break slot from 2pm on July 6th.

This program is the first solo MC program of Snow Man’s Miyadate Ryota, also known as “Tate-sama,” and has been broadcast every Monday late at night for a total of 10 episodes since October 2023, with three special episodes being broadcast. Now, in response to enthusiastic requests from viewers, it has been decided to broadcast the fourth special program.

Miyadate has traveled around Japan with his guests, tasting the local seasonal ingredients with his “golden spoon,” and serving up his own original dishes. This time, a new highlight will be his powered-up “wandering chef” delivering dishes to clients upon request. Miyadate has previously presented elegant dishes using a variety of ingredients, but what kind of ideas will he come up with this time?

■ SixTONES’ Hokuto Matsumura requests food from “Tate-sama” for his co-stars in a drama
The first client on the show is SixTONES member Matsumura Hokuto. He asks Miyadate to make delicious food for Matsumoto Wakana and Fujii Takashi, who are co-starring with him in the Tuesday drama “Saionji-san Doesn’t Do Housework,” which starts on July 9th. To fulfill Matsumura’s request, who worked with him before his debut, Miyadate heads to Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, to look for seasonal ingredients.

Matsumoto and Fujii’s requests were for “food that will improve the skin’s radiance” and “food that can be eaten easily to prevent summer fatigue.” So Miyadate, Matsumura, and Iio Kazuki of Zun decided to investigate gourmet food that uses Yokosuka’s beloved ingredients, pumpkin and octopus.

The three of them struggle to harvest pumpkins in the fields while sweating under the scorching sun, and help with octopus fishing while rocking on a boat. At the homes of the farmers and fishermen, they enjoy delicious gourmet food while interacting with their children. The trio of Miyadate, Matsumura, and Iio’s “wandering culinary journey” is full of laughter and healing, so don’t miss it.

Inspired by the food made by locals, Miyadate creates a dish using pumpkin and octopus. Miyadate and Iio then visit the set of “Saionji-san Doesn’t Do Housework” with the finished dish and present it to the locals.

Miyadate wants to soothe Matsumoto and Fujii’s fatigue! He wants them to be happy! So he prepares a “gimmick” for the food, but what will be their reaction?

■ Comment from Ryota Miyadate
Hokuto and I have been doing stage shows and live shows together for a long time, so I was happy to have him come as a guest with the drama. Before the shoot, we talked about each other’s recent situations and asked about the drama. Matsumoto and Fujii were meeting for the first time, so we had them eat our home-cooked food (laughs). It was the first attempt for the program, and we didn’t know what the shoot would be like, so we first researched Hokuto and the two of them. We made the food as hard as we could, hoping that they would be able to relieve some of the fatigue from the daily drama shoots and make them happy! During the shoot, we relied on Iio-san throughout and left it to him, but it was fun. Pumpkin and octopus are familiar ingredients, but it was interesting to learn cooking methods from local people that I don’t usually make. There were many discoveries, and a new door has opened for Miyadate. I hope you will also encounter that first step.
