Creepy Nuts’ new song “Otonoke” has been chosen as the opening theme for the TV anime “Dandadan,” which will be broadcast on 28 MBS/TBS affiliated stations in the “Super Animeism TURBO” slot starting in October.
This was announced at an additional performance of “Creepy Nuts ONE MAN TOUR 2024” held at Yokohama Arena on June 23rd.
“Dandadan” is an occult battle and coming-of-age story based on the popular manga by Ryu Yukinobu, which is currently being serialized on Shueisha’s manga magazine app “Shonen Jump+”, with a total circulation of 3.2 million copies and over 440 million views.
The anime will be produced by Science SARU, which also worked on the anime film “Inu-Oh” and the TV anime “Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!”, which has been generating a lot of buzz.
Regarding the song, the members of Creepy Nuts commented, “The moment I feel most satisfied with songwriting is when I think, ‘I’ve made a song that doesn’t exist in this world,’ and that is definitely the case with Otonoke! I’m so glad I was able to make it!” (DJ Matsunaga), and R-Shitei said, “The interpretation of this song, in which monsters or spirits possess people and ‘resonate with and connect with their pain and sadness,’ seems very similar to the relationship I think about between music creators and listeners, so I set my pen to work.”
Anticipation is building for the new song “Otonoke” to spread, when it goes on air in October and its release.

I felt that this interpretation of this work, in which monsters or spirits possess people and “resonate with and connect with their pain and sadness,” was very similar to the relationship I think about between music creators and listeners, and that is what inspired me to write this piece.
