Skapara × SUPER EIGHT to release new song on August 8th, “Eight Day”

SUPER EIGHT has been selected to perform guest vocals for the second installment of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra’s “NO BORDER” trilogy.

Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary since its debut, will release three consecutive songs over three months as part of the “NO BORDER” trilogy. The first release will be “Ichinichi Hana feat. Imase & Narashino High School Wind Orchestra” on July 1st, featuring guest vocalist Imase.

On June 23rd, Skapara appeared at the music festival “EIGHT-JAM FES” held at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, and announced that SUPER EIGHT would be the guest vocalist for the second installment of the “NO BORDER Trilogy” along with the guest band SUPER EIGHT. They also announced that they would be releasing a new song, “Ano Natsu no Aimai ME feat. SUPER EIGHT” on August 8th, “Eight Day.”

The two have been deepening their relationship through collaborations at live shows and TV appearances since Skapara rearranged “Musekinin Hero” from SUPER EIGHT’s best album “GR8EST” released in 2018. I can’t wait for the release of the new song to see what kind of chemistry they will have this time.

■Comment from Atsushi Yanaka (Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra)
The first time I met you all was six years ago in 2018.
It was when we rearranged and performed “Irresponsible Hero” together.
I remember that all of us at Skapara were impressed by everyone’s personalities during the music video shoot.
I have always believed that a person’s character is directly connected to their music, and I remember being struck by the realization that it was because of each member’s personalities that SUPER EIGHT’s wonderful musicality was able to shine through.
Skapara is a large group, and we share a lot of the joys and hardships of continuing to be cheerful, so I think we’ve become even closer.
No, I didn’t sense any hardship from them, which made me respect them even more.
Then, when I met SUPER EIGHT, I had a chance to reconsider what a band or a group is, and I put those thoughts into the lyrics of the song.
This time, all the members of Skapara poured their heart out in love for SUPER EIGHT and created a song.
While I was writing the lyrics, I kept the faces of Yokoyama-kun, Murakami-kun, Maruyama-kun, Yasuda-kun, and Okura-kun in my mind, and finished the song at a rapid pace and with great fun.
“Ai-Mai ME of the Summer”, please accept this love.
I love SUPER EIGHT.

■Comment from Ryuhei Maruyama (SUPER EIGHT)
We are pleased to announce that we are giving Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra this rare opportunity.
I feel like you all are always there to support us at times when we are at a crossroads.
Up until now, he has participated in numerous collaborations and sessions with us on wonderful songs.
I am happy to be able to create music with Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra again in a different form this time.
Don’t miss this chemical reaction!
I would love for you to listen to it. Thank you!
