Snow Man's Raul becomes entertainment presenter for Mezamashi TV in July! "I'll do my best with the feeling that I've joined Fuji TV!"

■Raul will appear on the broadcasts on July 2nd, 16th, and August 2nd!

Snow Man’s Raul has been chosen as the entertainment presenter for Fuji TV’s Mezamashi TV in July.

Raul is scheduled to appear three times on July 2nd, 16th, and August 2nd. He will appear in the entertainment corner at 6 o’clock, as well as in “Imadoki” and “Mezamashi Janken”, and will read live scripts, and will appear as the MC from 7 o’clock until the end of the program. Together with entertainment announcer Shinichi Karube, he will report on various entertainment news.

Raul first came to the Mezamashi TV studio when he was 16, two months after his debut. Now, four years later, he is back as an entertainment newscaster.

■ Comment from Raul
Q: How did you feel when you first heard that you would be taking on the role of entertainment presenter?
I often watch “Mezamashi TV” and about once a week I would see actors and idols reading their scripts, so I thought, “Wow, they can do that!” I’m not that good at reading scripts, so I’m looking forward to feeling like an announcer for a moment.
But… is it okay if I do it? (laughs) One of our members is Abe (Ryohei), who often works as a newscaster, so I’m going to get some good advice from him!
Q: What kind of image do you have of “Mezamashi TV”?
I’ve been watching “Mezamashi TV” since I was little, and I have a warm and cozy image of it. Maybe it’s because of the colors, and maybe it’s because Karube-san is there. It’s a show that makes you feel gentle in the morning, or gives you kindness.
Q: Do you have a favorite corner?
My favorite is “Today’s Dog.” When I was in elementary and junior high school, I had a routine of leaving the house right after watching “Today’s Dog.” Before leaving the house, you feel like you don’t want to go, right? This is a corner I like that turns that feeling into a positive one. When I debuted, I thought I could appear on the “dog side” of “Today’s Dog,” but I didn’t get an offer for a while (laughs). I’m really looking forward to watching the VTR and commenting!
Q: What is your impression of announcer Karube, who will be presenting the entertainment segment with you?
He has a good vibe and I think he would go along with anything I do that’s silly, and he has a sense of humor that would embrace me. I’m happy to be able to work with Karube-san.
