■The strongest typhoon on record approaches eastern Japan, causing heavy rains and road collapses in remote areas. This is the first time that a civilian has been killed in SDM.
The final episode of the Wednesday 10pm drama “Blue Moment” (Fuji TV), starring Yamashita Tomohisa, will be broadcast at 10pm on June 26th.
“Blue Moment” depicts the story of the members of the Special Disaster Management Office (SDM) who risk their lives to rescue people at the forefront of the disaster, using their wisdom and knowledge to protect the lives of those threatened by severe weather disasters. Tomohisa Yamashita plays the main character, Kankuro Haruhara, who serves as the chief/meteorological researcher of the SDM.
■ Synopsis of the final episode
With the strongest typhoon ever recorded approaching eastern Japan, torrential rains have hit Saitama. A large road has collapsed. With the help of Haruhara Kankuro (Yamashita Tomohisa)’s analysis, Sonobe Yugo (Mizukami Koji) puts all his efforts into rescue efforts. Shiomi Sagiri (Kaho) treats the rescuers, but for the first time in SDM’s history, a civilian has been killed.
“We will keep fighting until the end”
Having made up his mind, Haruhara headed to Tokyo, where the typhoon was approaching. He tried to warn people about the storm through the media, social media, and radio, but was unable to respond due to power outages and communication problems, so Kumota Aya (Deguchi Natsuki) and Maruyama Hikaru (Nimura Sawa) decided to head to the scene.
As Aya and her friends go from house to house to warn apartment managers, they receive reports of people evacuating on their own. Aya and Hikaru head to the apartment complex to provide emergency protection for the people who evacuated on their own, and are able to reunite with them. Aya and her friends rush to evacuate, but a sudden storm hits them…
