YOASOBI’s “Stage First” will be the NHK Sports Theme for 2024! First aired on NHK General TV’s “Japan Athletics Championships”

The song for “NHK Sports Theme 2024” by YOASOBI has been completed and the title has been decided as “Stage Standing”. The song will be aired for the first time on the “Japan Athletics Championships” broadcast from 7:30 pm on June 28th.

To create the song, they asked three manga artists active in Shueisha’s “Shonen Jump+”, Taizan 5, Yuki Kirishima, and Hiruga Haruno, to create a work with a sports theme. Then, based on the manga, Jun Esaka wrote a novel, and created the song based on the original novel. As the “NHK Sports Theme 2024”, it is an uplifting guitar rock tune that was written with the image of the conflicts and excitement that athletes face. It is a song that will give a push not only to athletes, but also to anyone who needs to take a courageous step forward.

The system will be used by NHK in its broadcasts of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games starting in July, as well as various other sports in 2024.

I have written a new song called “Stand on the Stage” for the “NHK Sports Theme 2024.”

We too have been deeply influenced and moved by watching athletes excel in various situations, so we are very honored to have been given this opportunity.

This song was created not only to cheer on the athletes who will be competing in the games, but also to express the thoughts and feelings that we all share as artists, such as the struggles we face before stepping onto the big stage and the excitement we feel at that moment.
