Goro Inagaki, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi and Shingo Katori talk about their fierce battle with a magazine reporter on "Nanani Underground Abema"

■ “I thought I’d never be able to beat these guys” (Katori Shingo)

“Nanani Underground Abema” is a regular Abema program featuring Inagaki Goro, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (the official spelling of “nagi” is the old-style character for “bow” with the character for “front” and “sword”), and Katori Shingo.

The theme of episode #31, which aired on June 30th at 8pm, was a follow-up to episode #30, “A Special Gathering of Extremely Scary Journalists from the Underworld,” which brought together journalists and experts who specialize in information about the unknown underworld.

This time, Ozawa, a private detective who is an expert in infidelity investigations, Unno Yuriko, a beauty medical journalist, Katsumaru Enkaku, a former public security police officer who supervised the drama “VIVANT,” and Yamada Toshihiro, an international journalist, revealed shocking information that could only be shared on “Nanani Underground Abema.”

As various topics came up, Katsumaru, a former public security police officer, and Yamada, an international journalist, decided to teach the Nanani members “how to avoid being followed.”

Katsumaru said, “If you turn in the same direction three times and someone is still following you, there’s a good chance you’re being followed,” to which Katori shared a surprising episode. Katori revealed that when he was in his 20s, he was followed by a magazine reporter who looked like a police officer. He said, “I got in a taxi for no reason and went to a back alley, and I really did this (a way to avoid being followed), and just when I thought I’d completely escaped (I ended up in a magazine article), I was in the magazine with a look on my face that said, ‘I totally escaped!'” and added, “At that moment, I realized I’d never be able to beat these guys.”

Kusanagi also talked about his experience of having his mealtimes published in a magazine. Regarding the men and women who were thought to have been following him, he said, “When I thought back on it later, the man and woman were saying things like, ‘Shall we eat at this restaurant?’ and acting as if they were entering the restaurant,” and, “Due to the angle of the photo (in the magazine), the man’s bag was the camera,” he said, candidly sharing his experience.

The topic then turned to the shocking battle that took place between Katori and a magazine reporter while he was abroad with an acquaintance. What was the shocking content of the battle that led Katori to beg the reporter, “Please spare me”…?

In addition, Umino Yuriko, a journalist specializing in cosmetic medicine, talks about the reality of 6,000 cases of cosmetic surgery troubles that have occurred in the past year, and Ozawa, a private investigator and professional in infidelity investigations, reveals the latest changes in infidelity that have occurred since the COVID-19 pandemic.
