Kaiju No. 8 is a hugely popular comic by Naoya Matsumoto that has been serialized since July 2020 on Shueisha’s manga magazine app “Shonen Jump+”. It has won numerous manga awards and has sold over 13 million copies in Japan (including digital versions) with 12 volumes published so far. Its popularity is not limited to Japan, but is also popular overseas, including North America. When it was announced in 2022 that it would be animated by Production IG/Studio Color, the creators of Kaiju Design & Works, fans of the work and anime fans were delighted and it became a hot topic. Then, on April 13, 2024, it began broadcasting on TV Tokyo and other networks, and was streamed in real time worldwide on X (Twitter), and has been generating a lot of excitement, especially on social media.

The track list for “Kaiju No. 8 Original Soundtrack” (music by Bando Yudai), which will be released on June 26th, as well as the participating artists, product display photos, and bonus illustrations have been made public.
The soundtrack, which consists of 64 songs, includes “Kaiju No. 8’s Theme,” which plays symbolically in the film, “Kaiju Rock,” which features Sasaki “Kojiro” Takayuki (Guitar), King Gnu’s Arai Kazuki (Bass), and Ishiwaka Shun (Drums) as part of the project “THE KAIJU BAND,” “Hoshino’s Theme,” which was co-written with trackmaker MON/KU, “Sagamihara Extermination Operation,” which condenses the ensemble power of Bando’s orchestra “Ensemble FOVE,” and “Scream” feat. (sic)boy and “Warcry” feat. Okazaki Taiiku, which are songs that appear in the film. The final song on the album, “Never Break Down,” is used in the touching scene in episode 10, where Kaiju No. 8 saves the Japanese Defense Forces’ 3rd unit from a critical situation, and LEO Imai is in charge of vocals and English lyrics.
In addition to LEO Imai, “Kikoru’s Theme – Extended ver.” used in episode 9 was co-produced by Patrick Page II of The Internet, and features American rapper Suni MF, as well as the impressive line-up of currently popular artists, Kimijima Hirosora (Guitar) and Umei Misaki (Keyboard).
A collection of songs and artists from across genres have come together to create the musical world of the anime “Kaiju No. 8”, with additional recordings and a completely redone mix for the soundtrack. This is a must-have for music fans, not just fans of the anime “Kaiju No. 8”.

The product specifications have also been released, with a special package that comes with a sleeve case with the number 8 logo cut out. The manufacturer’s bonus logo sticker uses the jacket design from the pre-release release and comes in six random designs.
