It has been announced that the girls discovered through the audition program “Trot Girls Japan,” which aims to discover new divas based on the hugely popular Korean music genre “Trot,” will appear at Fuji Television’s major summer event, “Odaiba Adventure King.” In addition to performing daily for a week on the stage on the first floor of the Fuji Television headquarters, all the members will appear at the 4,500-seat “Island Stadium” on Saturday, August 24th, for the finale.
After the auditions in February this year, the members of Trot Girls Japan immediately traveled to Korea to appear on the music variety show “Japan-Korea Song Contest,” in which they competed against singers who had won Korean audition programs. The Japan-Korea Song Contest, which was broadcast for eight weeks in Korea, the home of trot, became a popular program with a viewer rating of nearly 15%, and the names of the members of Trot Girls Japan became widely known in Korea. The show was also broadcast in Japan on WOWOW and ABEMA, where it caused a great stir. (All episodes are currently available for free streaming on WOWOW On Demand and ABEMA.)
Their popularity gradually spread to Japan, where they were featured in news programs, newspapers, radio, and other media, and eventually Trot Girls Japan, which was previously a completely unknown group, grew to the point where they began appearing daily at Odaiba Adventure King.
On the Odaiba Adventure King stage, they plan to perform nostalgic yet high-spec Japanese hits that everyone can hum along to, which they sang on Japanese audition programs and at the Japan-Korea match in Korea. In addition, special guests are scheduled to appear on the Island Stage on August 24, and a spin-off unit of Trot Girls Japan will be unveiled.
