◆Profile

Born in Tokyo.
In 1973, he formed Sugar Babe with Tatsuro Yamashita and others. They released the album “SONGS” in 1975 and disbanded in 1976. In the same year, they released “Grey He made his solo debut with “Skies”.
Since their concert at Suntory Hall in 1987, they have continued to perform both as a band and acoustically, and have released 27 original albums to date.
Her published works include the essay collection “My Way of Living” (Shinchosha, 2013) and many others.
He has also worked on many soundtracks for commercials, movies, TV shows and games, including the main theme of the movie “Shall we Dance?” (directed by Suo Masayuki, 1996), the music producer for “Tokyo Weather” (directed by Takenaka Naoto, 1998/winner of the 21st Japan Academy Award for Best Original Score), and many others. He is also known for his child-friendly music, such as “The Metropolitan Museum of Art” and “Peter Rabbit and Me.”
With the recent city pop boom, their second album “SUNSHOWER” became a hot topic, and many of their albums were re-released on vinyl in the 2010s.
