QUBIT (Daoko, Seiichi Nagai, Masato Suzuki, Shohei Amimori, Kazuya Oi) have written a new song, “Good Bye Kamisama,” for the theme song of NHK Ani×Para “Universal Relay × Shin Takahashi.” The lyrics on the theme of “internal fighting spirit” and the powerful rock sound make this a new frontier for QUBIT, so be sure to check it out.
“Ani x Para” is a project that aims to convey the appeal of parasports in an easy-to-understand way and realize a diverse society. This time, it’s the track and field event “Universal Relay.” Four unique characters designed by manga artist Shin Takahashi are aiming for the finish line.
The first broadcast of the anime, which will feature this song, will be aired on NHK BS from 3:55 pm on Friday, August 16th.

A five-member band consisting of Daoko (Vo), who has produced numerous hit songs and has a unique worldview, Seiichi Nagai (Gt), who is not only a guitarist but also provides songs and produces for various artists, Masato Suzuki (Ba), who is active as a bassist and producer for LITTLE CREATURES, Shohei Amimori (Key), who has been attracting attention for his work in the field of pop music such as Taeko Onuki and Tomoyo Harada in recent years, and Kazuya Oi (Dr), who has participated in live performances and recordings of numerous artists. The band name “QUBIT” comes from the smallest unit in quantum mechanics. The band began activities on April 24, 2023, and released their first single “GAD” in June. With the announcement of their launch, they attracted attention in the latest music scene, such as being selected for “NO MUSIC, NO LIFE.”, and released their first album “9BIT” in November. It won first place in the J-POP/Pop category in the 2023 best genre rankings announced by Music Magazine, a music magazine.

●Daoko
Born in Tokyo in 1997. At the age of 15, she attracted attention with a song she posted on Nico Nico Douga, and made her debut in 2015 with “DAOKO”. Since then, she has collaborated with talented artists, such as “Uchiage Hanabi” with Kenshi Yonezu and “Step Up LOVE” with Yasuyuki Okamura, while also continuing her solo activities. She continues to express herself in a variety of creative ways, such as writing novels, holding solo exhibitions of paintings, and acting, and has attracted attention both in Japan and abroad. In 2019, she established her own office, “Tefu Tefu”. In 2021, she began working on her own label. In parallel with her solo activities, she has also been active in the band QUBIT since April 2023. In June 2023, she was in charge of the theme song “Tsuki no Hana” for the movie “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos”. In December of the same year, she produced the theme song “Nanairo Quest” for the new permanent exhibition “Nanairo Quest” at the Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation with Tomggg. On May 22, 2024, the band will release their eighth full-length album, “Slash-&-Burn,” their first in about four years!

● Seiichi Nagai
Composer / Guitarist
He continues to be active as the guitarist for Theory of Relativity.
In addition to providing songs to Tomohisa Yamashita and DAOKO, he has produced for Spangle Call Lilli Line and The Valley Boys, and remixed for Moonriders and Buffalo Daughter. As a player, he has performed with various musicians, including Yukihiro Takahashi and GREAT3.
Since 2023, he has been an active member of TESTSET and QUBIT.

Masato Suzuki
Born in Berlin in June 1971. Bassist/arranger/producer.
In 1987, while still in high school, he formed the band LITTLE CREATURES with Takuji Aoyagi (Vo/G) and Tsutomu Kurihara (Dr), and made his major debut in 1990 with the single “THINGS TO HIDE”. After that, he went to the US and enrolled in Berklee College of Music. After returning to Japan, he worked as a bassist and producer in parallel with his band activities. In March 2005, he formed “sighboat” with writer Yayako Uchida (Vo) and Takuma Watanabe (Pf) of combo piano. In 2006, he released his first solo album “UNFIXED MUSIC”. In 2007, he joined Naruyoshi Kikuchi’s dub sextet. In recent years, he has expanded his activities as a composer, including writing the music for the films “Kids on the Slope”, “Oraora de Hitori Igumo” and “Achi ni Iru Oni”. 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of his debut. By connecting people and sounds, he has strengthened his presence as a key figure in the scene.

●Shohei Amimori
Born in 1990. Graduated from the Department of Composition, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. Completed the Master’s Program at the Graduate School of Music at the same university. Received the Hasegawa Yoshio Award while in school. Won first place in the Composition Division of the 2013 Japan Music Competition and the Meiji Yasuda Prize. The orchestral work he completed at the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School was purchased by the university, and the score is permanently preserved at the university art museum. He began his work as a composer of classical and contemporary music during his student days, and has released many works ranging from chamber music to orchestral pieces.
In recent years, he has been active across a wide range of genres, including pop music and sound art, and has released three original albums, including “Pata Music” and “Ex. LIFE.” In addition to his solo activities, he has composed and arranged songs for many artists, including Taeko Onuki, Tomoyo Harada, and Daoko. He has also worked on the soundtrack for the movie “Hyakka,” served as music director for NHK Educational TV’s “Musica Piccolino,” and composed music for many other TV dramas and commercials.
