Voice actress and artist Ogura Yui held the “Ogura Yui Birthday Event 2024 “Yui Ryo Festival” ~Cute or Cool?” at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Tokyo on Thursday, August 15, 2024, which was her birthday.
The Yuiryo Festival will be held for the first time since the release event for the 9th single “Towa Shounen” on August 15, 2018. This time, it will be divided into two parts, “Day Cute mode” and “Night Cool mode”, and here we will introduce the digest of the daytime part, “Day Cute mode”.
Called on by MC Morinaga Tamachi, Ogura appeared on stage in a cute yukata robes, which was also used in the event visuals. Ogura was a little embarrassed to say, “This is my first performance at my first event since I was 29,” and the audience cheered loudly. When asked how she felt about her birthday, Ogura said that she felt lonely as it was the last year of her 20s, but she also said with a smile, “I will continue to fight against age, so I look forward to turning 30 next year,” which got the audience excited.
The latest information has also been released about the long-awaited new album “Bloomy,” which will be released on September 18th. The album will include 8 new songs, including the lead song “Wind of Bloom,” for which Ogura wrote the lyrics, as well as bonus tracks. The first-press limited edition Blu-ray will include the music video and making of “Wind of Bloom,” as well as a live clip of the debut song, “Raise ~Bloomy ver.~.” It is said that “Raise ~Bloomy ver.~” features her wearing the costumes she wore when she debuted, so this is also worth checking out.

As the audience was excited by the surprise announcement, a “birthday cake” made by the fan club was brought onto the stage in return. Ogura blew out the candles while the audience sang a birthday song to celebrate, and a commemorative photo was taken with the audience in the background.

In “Cute♡mode Yui-chan,” who maintains her cuteness in any situation, she took on the challenges of “cute cotton candy,” “cute ring toss,” and “cute ramune swallowing,” all in honor of the summer festival. Ogura, who continues to exude cuteness in any situation, was given the undisputed “cute” rating by the audience.
Next up was “Shout with I・LOVE・YUI♡ in the Heart of Shibuya,” in which the audience was divided into four teams, and each team shouted their assigned “word” at the same time, which Ogura had to listen to and distinguish. The words were the top three “cute things about Yui-chan” that were collected in advance on Instagram, plus some more obscure words. At first, Ogura struggled to distinguish between them, but by carefully listening to each team, she was able to arrive at the correct answer. Incidentally, the four words given were “smile,” “hardworking,” “natural,” and “presence,” and Ogura seemed dissatisfied that “natural” was ranked at the top.
For the long-awaited live performance, they changed from their yukatas into cute singing costumes decorated with pink. After performing “Kimiiro no Kiseki” and “I・LOVE・YOU!!” back to back, they covered “Ne~e?” (Matsuura Aya) and “Saikoku ni Kawaii no!” (Cho Tokimeki♡Sendenbu), songs that fit the theme of the event, “Day Cute mode”. Two dancers joined in, further livening up the venue. Then, as if to make a final push, they put on cat ears and sang “Wild☆Kitty” and “High Touch☆Memory” with even more cuteness, concluding the live performance.
After the concert, Ogura announced that she would be restarting her personal YouTube channel, and that her first FC event in about two years would be held on Saturday, January 11th next year. At the end, she filmed a TikTok video with the audience in the background, bringing the cute afternoon session to a close.
