The new unit “sis” (pronounced “sis”), formed from the singers of the audition program “Trot Girls Japan,” which seeks out new singers based on the hugely popular Korean music genre “Trot,” appeared on the largest stage at Fuji TV Odaiba Adventure King, Island Stadium, on Saturday, August 24th. On stage, all 10 members of “Trot Girls Japan” made their debut performance of their debut song “Ai no Battery,” produced by Hyadain and scheduled for release this fall.
The members of sis, consisting of Kanou Miyu, MAKOTO., Tara Rihoko, and Asahi Ai, appeared at the end of the stage.
The four members appeared on stage saying “Hello!” with a cheerful “Hello!”, and MAKOTO. introduced themselves, saying “We are Sis, who will be debuting this fall. Nice to meet you.” Kanou then greeted the audience, saying “Today we will be performing our debut song, produced by Hyadain, for the first time.” She then encouraged the audience to join in with the choreography, and after MAKOTO.’s introduction of the song, “Now please listen to “Love’s Battery.”,” they immediately began singing “Love’s Battery.”
This song is a representative trot song sung by Korean female singer Hong Jinyoung in 2009. For her debut, a Japanese version was produced by Hyadain. It is a pop song with an arrangement that makes the most of the nuances of trot and a sophisticated chorus work.
The four performed their first choreography in perfect harmony. When Asayo asked, “What did you all think?”, the audience of about 500 people cheered loudly. Then, they announced, “We, sis, will be performing at Shigeru Matsuzaki’s Kuro Fes on September 6th.” Tara said, “Standing seats are still on sale, so please come.” Kanou also called out, “Please come!” At the end of the stage, MAKOTO. said, “I never thought we would be able to perform together as the four of us, so I was very happy.” Asayo said, “Today, everyone really gave me energy. Thank you very much for your support.” Kanou said, “It’s good that we could perform together as the four of us. Thank you everyone for coming out in this heat.” Tara commented, “Thank you everyone for coming out in this heat today. I’m glad I could see everyone’s faces so clearly from so close. I’m also happy that we were able to perform together as the members of sis for the first time.”
