Koresawa’s “Koresawa LIVE TOUR 2024 Daily Meetings” live report has arrived!

Singer-songwriter Koresawa held additional performances of her national tour “Koresawa LIVE TOUR 2024 Hibikaikaikai” with her latest mini-album “Hibi Aiai” in Tokyo, Aichi, Osaka, and Fukuoka. Koresawa’s popularity is on the rise thanks to social media such as TikTok. As if to prove her momentum, all performances of the tour that began in May, including the acoustic version, band version, and additional performances, were sold out. On the first day of the additional performances at Zepp Shinjuku in Tokyo on Friday, August 23, 2024, the floor was filled with Korens (a nickname for Koresawa’s fans).

At the appointed time, the lights shaped like Koresawa’s character Reko-chan were lit up on the stage. To the sound of clapping, Koresawa and band members Higuchi Kei (Gt), U (Dr), Kitamura Manami (Key) and shizupi (Ba) appeared on stage. Then, with Koresawa’s lively count of “1, 2, 3!”, the live performance began with “Day by Day.” A sense of unity was created during “Atashi wo Kanojo Shitai Nara” as the audience chimed in and sang along. Koresawa encouraged the audience and livened up the venue with her passionate performance.

“Let’s have a fun night tonight. Everyone gathered in Shinjuku, let your voices be heard!” she said, hyping up the crowd, and the excitement rose with “Sentimentally Stabbed”. Next came “Punpun”, a charming song that depicts the feelings of a girl who’s angry at her boyfriend. A refreshing breeze blew through the venue with the organic groove of U and shizupi and the light tones of Koresawa’s acoustic guitar. Afterwards, amid the sounds of the crowd, Koresawa hummed while strumming her acoustic guitar. On the darkened stage, she softly sang “This love won’t be scooped”.

“I wrote this song because I wanted to wash away all the little unpleasant things and irritations that have happened up until now. We’re all singing together on this tour, so I hope the Collens who are here today will join in. Now, let’s have bath time,” she called out, and then sang “Bath Time.” The relaxed rhythm, enveloping singing voice, and the fans’ singing created a warm atmosphere. “Thank you for singing so much. It’s wonderful!” said Koresawa, who seemed overwhelmed. She then went on to greet the fans, saying, “Thank you for inviting me to the additional show of the Hibi Kaikai Tour, and the Hibi Kaikai Tour.” It had been about six years since the band last toured from Hokkaido to Fukuoka, and she expressed her gratitude and joy.

In addition, she performed her single “To All My Ex-Girlfriends,” which will be released digitally on September 4th. The song is written from a unique perspective that has never been seen before, and when it was first performed at the Tokyo performance of the “Everyday Meetings Tour” on August 9th, the day of her debut, there was a roar when the title was called out. The song captivates with its playful toy pop sound and lyrics that transform jealousy into positive energy. At the end of the song, Koresawa scattered confetti with a big smile, reminiscent of the jacket of her new song, and the floor erupted in cheers.

Kitamura then played a graceful piano solo before her signature song “Tabako,” and the atmosphere in the venue changed completely. Her heartfelt singing under the spotlight was heartbreaking. After that, Koresawa stirred up sadness with her emotional singing and sound in “Summer End,” and then moved to the fitting space on the right side of the stage. While the band members performed a comical performance, fans with the words “Kore-chan” and “You’re cute” were handed out to the audience in the front row. With the words “Okay! Do you think everyone thinks I’m cute in this outfit?” the curtains slid open, revealing Koresawa in a new outfit. Amid cheers of joy, she went on to “The Night Before the Date.” The crowd got excited as they raised their fans and waved their penlights, calling out “You’re cute today, too!”

In “Nyan Nyan Nyan,” Koresawa, wearing cat ears and a tail, plays with Higuchi, who has a cat toy, delivering healing with an adorable performance. Furthermore, in “Kimi no Tattoo,” included in the latest album, the audience swayed their bodies to their heart’s content in response to the call, “Everyone, dance however you like.”

“Next, I’d like to sing a cover song! While I write my own songs, I also provide many great songs. Recently I provided a song for an idol… but it was written for six people to sing together, so it’s hard to sing alone. Everyone, help me!” Koresawa called out, and then guest Cho Tokimeki♡Sendenbu appeared. The unexpected surprise was met with thunderous cheers.

After Tsujino Kanami, An Julia, Sakai Nika, Koizumi Haruka, Suda Aiki, and Yoshikawa Hiyori introduced themselves, Koresawa also introduced herself, saying, “I’m Koresawa, the super selfish and angry Kore-chan!” “Tokinobu has come! Today, let’s experience everyone’s cuteness for the Korens too,” she said, as she sang “Cutest of the Best!” The audience was captivated by her colorful singing voice and shining smile. Koresawa, who stood in the center, also surprised the fans by performing some sharp choreography with the Tokinobu members. During the song, she put her arm around Koizumi’s shoulder and exchanged looks with Sakai, showing her intimate side, and Yoshikawa was moved to tears. Although it was only for a short time, Koresawa had blended in as a member of Tokinobu.

After sending off Cho Tokimeki♡Sendenbu, they encouraged the crowd with “Can we go even further?!” and launched into the final sprint with “At the End of the Live”. The energy brought by Tokinobu brought the heat in the venue to a climax. They then performed the lively “F Chord”, “You’re the Grandpa, I’m the Grandma” which filled the venue with a warm sound, and the classic number “SSW”. Koresawa’s appearance as she sang the phrase “You’re not alone anymore” from “SSW” while pointing at the floor showed her feelings for her fans.

“I would be very happy if Koresawa could be of some help to everyone’s daily lives, or be one of the reasons they feel happy. Finally, I will sing a very important song from ‘Hibi Aiai’. I hope that Koresawa can continue to be there for everyone in their daily lives. And I hope that I too can sing about my own days,” she said with this wish as she sang “Kono Hibi wo,” the last song on the album. As the voices of the fans overlap with the gentle, warm sound, the performance became more and more dynamic. The song, filled with determination, brought emotion to the audience and brought the main part of the show to a close.

As soon as the main performance ended, a voice started playing, encouraging an encore: “Kore-chan! Kore-chan!” It was a clever touch that made it easy for even first-time live attendees to join in the call-outs. When asked during the main performance, “Is this your first time at a live show?” the majority of the audience raised their hands, indicating that there were many first-time fans on this day. Among them, Koresawa encouraged the audience to call and clap more than usual to get the crowd excited. With the number of listeners increasing, she wanted to ensure that first-time fans and long-time fans could all enjoy the show together – this consideration was evident everywhere.

During the encore, they performed “♡Jinsei♡” with the sentiment, “I hope everyone’s lives will be happy, and that we can all do what we love,” and the solid bass and fantastic keyboard sounds created a danceable and heartwarming atmosphere. Coupled with the call and response and the audience singing along, the venue was filled with a sense of happiness.

“There will also be a Koretheater in the fall, so please come and see us. Enjoy your summer holidays! Work hard!” Koresawa announced the “Koresawa Solo Show 2024 Koretheater 05”, which will tour Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Sapporo from November to December, before bowing deeply and saying, “See you again! I love you!” as she left the stage. Celebrating her seventh anniversary since her debut, Koresawa has grown even more in both name and reality, but this performance in particular was a night filled with love for her fans and her desire to cherish each and every day.
