Report on the Zepp DiverCity performance of Uchida Aya performs a complete tour, featuring a total of 78 songs!

On February 23rd, Uchida Aya held a Tokyo performance of the Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka tour “AYA UCHIDA Complete TOUR ~marble~ The Lively 10th Anniversary” at Zepp DiverCity (TOKYO) in Tokyo.

This tour commemorates Uchida’s 10th anniversary of his artist’s debut on November 12th last year, and will be held in the order of Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo (two performances on the day and night). Of these, the odd-numbered episodes were called “side A” and the even-numbered episodes were called “side B”, and the band’s set was a bold attempt to sing all 78 songs, including both performances. I would like you to simply think about it. Now, if you think of any of Uchida’s songs, it’s definitely been performed. It’s unusual that there’s no single song “out of set list.”

Back in August 2016, “AYA UCHIDA Complete LIVE ~COLORS~” was held at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, and although he has a track record of singing all 34 songs from that time, the number of songs he has simply doubled in Tokyo performances. Performance times will inevitably increase. However, even after the performance, Uchida was beyond “liveiness” and was now just fine. Side A/side B on the stage for over four hours, she showed off her inexhaustible stamina and her love for her songs.

Both performances can be viewed by time shift (for a fee) on Niconico Live Broadcast until March 16th. In this article, I would like to introduce some of the highlights to readers to take a look, so I would like to narrow it down to some of the highlights.

■ “Marble” medley that allows you to freely control the connection of the song, “Pink Magenta” is also available as a crystallization of love with fans.

The day started with the title song of their debut album, “Apple Mint.” First of all, perhaps because of the shoulders, he sings in a faithful manner to the original song, but Uchida always gets more excited at live shows than anyone else in the venue. In a good sense, I can’t wait to see how the song changes from here onwards.

Next, they went to “Breezin'” in the same order as the album. He once faced songs and sang as if the main character played the role, but now I feel like Uchida himself has even become the song itself. In this song, it feels like cute and pure appearing in front of you wearing clothes, playing it to the fullest. At the same time, when imitating the alphabet of “S・U・K” in the song with his whole body, the characters “K” are still inverted from the audience, and the soft “nyanyanya” appearing in the song is Uchida Aya. This alone is worth watching timeshift.

The third song, “Which better, kick or punch?”, shows the true meaning of “marble” in the performance name. After finishing singing the song with a one chorus, the drums simply slash out the sound in the parts that should have been played. At the same time, when I started playing phrases that were not in the score at a slightly off-point, the colours surrounding the stage instantly changed from purple to orange. It felt like a “warp” and jumped to the momentary emotional “Orange” song. After singing for a while, I landed on the D melody of “Pale Blue.” The song is also wonderful to switch to a “slightly adult-like” singing voice, and from there, the medleys, such as the “Bright way,” lead to different parts of the interlude, with each song being A, B, and chorus, which are more like an acrobatics.

After performing at the live show for the first time in a while, the show ended with a full chorus of “ONE WAY,” and the first “marble” was completed. The set list for this performance was composed of two albums that solidified Uchida’s early musical activities, with side A as “Apple Mint” and side B as “Blooming!”, with two albums that solidified Uchida’s early musical activities in mind, thinking about what kind of songs they could create a new look, namely marble. It made me feel like the ice cream that was the motif of the third album, as if by making full use of the song’s modulation and other things, and at the same time, this “marble” can be seen as an assemblage of various colors for each block, making it seem like the ice cream that became the motif of the third album.

Let’s just introduce the flow from the middle of the live show onwards. When he put on the familiar puppet in “Where did the Crying Panda go?”, he unexpectedly continued playing the small panda in the next song, “Party Hour Surprise!” The song’s “Everybody smiley, right?”, also reaches a more lively atmosphere than usual.

If we’re going to expand on the lyrics, please also check out how to connect “Merry Go” and “So Happy.” In “Merry Go,” there is a sung section, “If you turn the opposition to happiness, it will turn into happiness, and the back of sadness has wings of joy growing on the back of sadness,” but after performing a one chorus, the fades into a chorus of “So Happy.” Here, a phrase awaited me, “Something HAPPY for everybody, like wings growing,” which seemed to retrieve the previous song.

This means “translating the opposite of happiness.” This time, due to the huge number of songs, some songs were performed in short versions without any problems, but on the other hand, the fun of having phrases straddle multiple songs lined up at a closer distance than a full chorus. This is the unique feature of this new interpretation. There are other stylish performances mentioned here, so please check with your time shift.

The long-awaited “Pink Magenta” fans will also be performing all the songs, as they will be performing. Although it was once an album song, it has changed position over the past 10 years as the crystallization of the love between Uchida and his fans. This time, I would like to note that in addition to the fact that the keyboard was played everywhere with a sound similar to that of Glocken, it created a different atmosphere than before, and that it also played a role in bringing out a soft, blessing-like sound throughout the song.

■SUMILE SMILE is grateful for his triumphant feelings and gratitude during the encore, and the water is delicious!

Side B, which began with “Blooming!”, solidified the beginning with songs from the album “Blooming!”, including “Sneaker Future Girl,” which is a reason to exude a reason to work hard at inferiority, and “Izayuke! Pegasus,” which holds the handlebars of a white bicycle with “air” on the day. From the end of the song “Go! My Cruising!”, “Holiday,” which was naturally connected by claps, also had a wonderful flow. The oddity of the arrangements, which are the number of times, or even the dozen times, shines through.

Marble, in the middle of the live performance, is packed with emotional songs, perhaps because it was a night performance. While the sacred atmosphere was engulfed in “Daydream,” which saw a rare performance in which the chorus work of the interlude was sung on the microphone, the MC after this reminded me of the Ferris wheel, a landmark in Odaiba that was once near the venue, and I was intoxicated by the calm and pleasant chorus, from “KANRANSHA” to “Close to you,” which was sentimental about the length of the 10 years. The moment you get a bit of a cool-colored song like “Inferior Mirage,” you’ll be moved by the selection of songs that gently feel the humidity.

Like the Ferris wheel mentioned earlier, Uchida said the venue on this day was a place with special feelings. This is because he announced his artist debut at an event (@JAM 2014) held at the same venue about 10 and a half years ago. It was also the stage where he sang “Apple Mint” for the first time. He also remembers that after the aforementioned Nippon Budokan live performance, when the first single “SUMILE SMILE” was released, the event was held on the Grand Staircase of the Festival Square outside the venue. After this MC, she sang “SUMILE SMILE” with the meaning of “triumphant return.” The little smile that bloomed back then has grown many times bigger and bigger.

■A new song full of encores: A live show to close out his first ever band and 10th anniversary year.

During the encore, although it’s a relatively recent song, she was already “Like a Gentleman” and was soothed by Uchida dancing to replenish her energy by replenishing her energy, and even her Spartan song “Help!!”, which she was exhausted halfway through the day and night performances, made me think, “It’s just a kind of training.” In particular, the latter part, the song “Is Omi delicious?”, which fans have been asking about for many years, has finally appeared in lyrics and even bottles for merchandise sales. He was already showing off his talent as a floor banger.

Additionally, the ending theme of the currently airing TV anime “Sentai Red: Become an Adventurer in Another World,” “Explosive Heart,” is faithful to the original song. I was excited for the future, with Uchida’s flavor added, and the cuteness of the new developments will be even more cute, and I would like to simply add that this theme song, “Niikakanakotachi,” which concludes the performance, has made me realize the message that summarises the past decade. I would like readers to watch the last song, without spoilers.

In this performance, he announced that he will be holding his first concert, “AYA UCHIDA with GUNMACHAN 2MAN LIVE” at his hometown of Takasaki City Cultural Hall in Gunma on May 5th. As the day is Children’s Day, the first parent-child seating will be set up, and the cover song “Jumbo Li Mickey!” was released by the kids’ label Columbia Kids, which it belongs to, and it was revealed that they will be singing on the day of the live show. In addition, on September 15th, there will be a culmination live performance to close out the 10th anniversary of his artist’s debut. Please wait for further information regarding this performance.

As Uchida himself has mentioned in previous interviews, this live performance has finally come true to his desire to perform songs that are difficult to spot due to the wide variety of songs, with some kind of theme. In addition, it also seems to have meant that it was a new place for encounters where songs could connect more together than ever before. Also, Uchida sang dozens of songs non-stop, which made her believe that she was “alright” from the future, after a period of time when she wanted to sing due to her throat disorder, and after a period of division due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she was convinced of the future that she was “alright now.”

As expressed in “Help!,” AYA UCHIDA’s style is to involve fans in the audience and overcome it with teamwork, even if there are difficulties or problems. As shown in “Say Goodbye, Say Hello,” which was sung at the end of the main story of side A, Uchida Aya will continue to take us to a “busy place” while “I update me.”
