[Fujiko Fujio Ⓐ Profile]
His real name is Abiko Motoo. Born on March 10th, 1934 in Himi City, Toyama Prefecture.
He began co-production of manga with Fujimoto Hiroshi (Fujiko F. Fujio) in middle school in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture.
He made his debut in 1951 with “Angel Tama-chan.” He has published numerous works with Fujiko Fujio as his pen name.
In 1987, the duo was dissolved and he set out to a new start as Fujiko Fujio Ⓐ.
In 1990, he produced and published the film “Boyhood”, and the following year, in 1991 he won the Japan Academy Award and many other awards.
His major works include Mangamichi, Boyhood, Professional Golfer Monkey, Ninja Hattori-kun, and Monster-kun.
“Parasol Henbee”, “Laughter Sexman”, “Mataro is Coming!!”, and many others.
In November 2008, he was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun and Red Rays.
In 2014, he won the 18th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Award Special Award for “Mangamichi” and “Ai… On the Shirisomeshiki” (東京都).
He passed away on April 6, 2022.
