The long-awaited live performance “MOTHER’s Ongaku” to commemorate the 30th anniversary of “MOTHER 2” has been decided to be released as a sound source!


The long-awaited third part of the live streaming live show “MOTHER’s Ongaku” (live performance by Suzuki Keiichi and a special band he called) held by the Hobonichi MOTHER Project to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of the Super Famicom™ software “MOTHER 2: The Strikes Back” (released in 1994 by Nintendo Corporation), which has been loved by game fans for the timeless years, has been released. CDs, records, and digital distribution on Wednesday, July 23rd *Records have been decided to be released on Wednesday, August 27th.
The music of the RPG series “MOTHER” is well known for being beyond the scope of existing game music and has many fans all over the world, but this performance focuses on the music from “MOTHER” (1989 software for Family Computer™, released by Nintendo Co., Ltd.) and “MOTHER 2: The Gigue Strikes Back,” and is performed by a luxurious special band featuring Suzuki Keiichi as the main character, Gondouto Mohiko, Sawabe Wataru, Sato Yusuke, Tanaka Hirokazu, Daniel Quan as guest vocalist, and Sakamoto Miu.
The booklet also includes a talk section held in the second part of “MOTHER’s Ongaku.” Itoi Shigesato, the creator of the “MOTHER” series, and Suzuki Keiichi and Tanaka Hirokazu, who colored the music in the game, share valuable memories of the time. Fans of the “MOTHER” series should definitely check it out.

◆Profile

Suzuki Keiichi
Born in Tokyo in 1951
He began his musical career around 1970, where he supported Agata Morio and Hamai End, as well as numerous recording sessions. In 1971, he formed “Honey Pai”. He was a pioneering rock activity in Japanese, and released his album “Sentimental Dori” in 1973. After the disbandment of Honey Pai, they formed the Moon Riders and made their debut in 1976 with the album “Fireball Boy.” In addition to his band activities, he has been involved in a wide range of music including massive commercials, idols, and enka, and has been involved in game music such as Mother/Mother 2, which has had a major impact on people. The Japan Record Awards was awarded the Japan Record Grand Prix for their solo album, “Captain Hate and the Love Navigator” Takahashi Yukihiro. In terms of film music, he won the Japan Academy Award for Best Music for his work, directed by Kitano Takeshi and Outrage Beyond: The Final Chapter. Zatoichi won the Best Music Award at the Sitges International Film Festival. He also has an actor face and has appeared in many films and dramas.
