Released on Wednesday, July 24th!!

Gyukaku, which is operated by Rains International Co., Ltd. of the Colowide Group, will begin airing its commercial “Don’t do it! Gyukaku” featuring its character Kanna Hashimoto on terrestrial television from Wednesday, July 24th.

■ Story and Characters

Kanna Hashimoto: “Samgyeopsal, cheese dak galbi… enjoying the Korean atmosphere”

Kanna visits Gyukaku with a close friend. She is excited to find the summer-only “Korean Fair” menu. She enjoys the juicy “Samgyeopsal” and the cheese-filled “Cheese Dakgalbi,” and gets into the Korean mood even while at Gyukaku. Kanna is so impressed by the food that she exclaims, “Good job, Gyukaku!” A very charming story full of deliciousness.

■ Episodes from the filming

The shoot took place at a Gyukaku store. As this was a Korean fair, the action was full throttle from the start. Kanna had tried samgyeopsal at the fair’s launch event last autumn, so she had already experienced how delicious it was. She was extremely skilled at eating it, and got it right the first time. When the photoshoot was being done for the composite, she commented, “Won’t the lettuce blend in with the green screen in the background?” and got very excited along with the filming staff.

■ Interview with Kanna Hashimoto

1) You appeared in a Gyukaku commercial last year. How are you feeling now?

I often hear things like, “Watching that commercial makes me hungry” or “It makes me want to go to that Gyukaku restaurant.” I’m especially happy when I hear from fans that some of them have come to eat at the restaurant where the filming took place. I made an acrylic stand for my fan club, and there were so many people who took photos with my little acrylic stand at Gyukaku that I think the number of people eating yakiniku there has increased (laughs).

②How was today’s commercial shoot?

It was really delicious at the Korean fair last fall, and I had the opportunity to try the samgyeopsal, and even after the event was over, I went back and ate more meat because it was so delicious. However, the fair itself wasn’t that long, so I wasn’t able to actually go to the store, and it ended after such a short period of time, and I was disappointed because it was so delicious.

But when I heard the content of this new commercial, I thought, “I thought so.” I think it’s really nice that everyone who can’t go to Korea right now can still get a taste of Korea at a nearby Gyukaku and eat authentic samgyeopsal and cheese dak galbi, so I hope that after watching the commercial, everyone will go to a Gyukaku and feel like they’ve traveled to Korea.

③I’m sure you’re busy these days and sometimes you get a boost of energy from eating yakiniku, so what are your top picks, including the Gyukaku menu item you had today?

The times when you suddenly want to eat meat are when you’re tired or busy.

I used to go to Gyukaku very often because my best friend worked there part-time. I had their “Osatsu Butter” today, and it was a nostalgic taste that reminded me of my student days. I felt that very strongly as I ate.

On the menu, I like Gyukaku’s top skirt steak. I also always order “sweet potato butter”. I also like green onion tongue salt and lean meat. There are quite a few menu items, so I always eat more than I can handle.

Of all the things I saw today, I have never tried Cotton Candy Sukiyaki Kalbi, so I would definitely like to try it.

When I was in high school, I used to eat this chicken basil cheese fondue with a lot of friends. “Grilled garlic in foil” is also delicious. I’ve never tried this kalbi rice, so I’d like to try it.

④Finally, please tell us your aspirations for your second year as a Gyukaku character.

In my first year, I appeared in a Gyukaku commercial, which said, “Just eat, eat, eat.” I’m really grateful for the many comments I received from people who said they went to Gyukaku after seeing the commercial, and I hope that more people will discover how delicious Gyukaku is and start coming to the restaurant more often.

As expected, the second year is also delicious, and I just eat it deliciously. I’m often told, “You look like you’re eating something delicious,” and on the set of this commercial, I really do think it’s delicious when I eat it, so I hope everyone will enjoy it too.
