We are pleased to announce that the new song “nice to see you” by “omeme tenten” has been digitally released as part of the novel, music, and illustration collaboration project “READ”.
Monogatary.com is a novel submission site where users can freely submit “stories” to “topics” given by the site’s management every day, and have fun reacting to them in various ways, such as adding illustrations and comments. The past contest “Monogatary 2019” hosted by the site attracted a lot of attention, such as the birth of “YOASOBI,” a unit that turns novels into music, which has been extremely successful, with their hit song “Idol” reaching number one on the global charts.
“READ” is a collaborative project from “monogatary.com” featuring up-and-coming creators, mainly novelists, artists, and illustrators.
We will be releasing a few original songs and lyric videos based on the novels every month. It goes without saying that the original novels are fascinating, so please enjoy the reinterpretations of the novels by popular artists and creators.
We are now pleased to announce that the new song “nice to see you” by the indie band “omeme tenten,” which is currently on the rise and has made an appearance at JAPAN JAM, has been digitally released from “READ” today, Wednesday, July 17th.
“Omeme tenten” is a three-member rock band with a female vocalist formed in Tokyo in April 2022.
The band is popular for its down-to-earth lyrics, vocalist Akari’s piercing voice, and catchy melodies based on alternative sounds.
The music video for “Instant Joke” recorded 10,000 views in less than three weeks after its release, making them one of the young bands worth paying attention to.
Omeme Tenten has turned the novel “Kappa and Spring Cabbage Lightly Pickled” posted on monogatary.com into a song. Set in Hachimanbori near Lake Biwa, the song recreates a fantastical and scenic story based on the ancient legends of the area. Please enjoy listening to the novel and the audio version.
What’s more, popular artist Minami Kitabayashi is in charge of the artwork and lyric video for the song “nice to see you.”
The lyric video is scheduled to be released at 8pm today, so please be sure to check it out.
“READ” is a project that allows you to experience a three-dimensional worldview through the three axes of novels, music, and illustrations.

■Omeme Tenten Profile
A three-member rock band with a female vocalist formed in Tokyo in April 2022.
Shortly after forming, they released the self-produced EP “Prayers” digitally.
In the summer, they held their first independent event at Shimokitazawa ERA in Tokyo, performing live in front of a packed audience.
At the same time, they independently released the CD EP “Prayers.”
In April 2023, the second EP “2020” will be released digitally and a limited number of CDs will be sold by hand.
The CD sold out at HOLIDAY! RECORDS, which stocks indie music.
The release event held at Shimokitazawa Kondo in Tokyo in May was sold out.
In October, the double A-side single “Now & Then / Black Hole Now” was released.
Their first appearance at the Osaka circuit event “MINAMI WHEEL 2023” was sold out.
A release event was held in November at Shimokitazawa Daisy Bar, which also ended in great success with people crowding all the way to the exit.
In January 2024, the double A-side single “Instant Joke/My Lovely” will be released.
The music video for “Instant Joke” recorded 10,000 views in less than three weeks.
