Bangkok, Thailand goes wild at RAGE’s first overseas offline event, “RAGE WORLD CHALLENGE in Bangkok”!

At the esports stage, after a close match between the two countries, Japan won 2-0. The event was a huge success from start to finish, with fans enjoying the esports exchange between Japan and Thailand!

RAGE, one of Japan’s largest e-sports entertainment companies, held its first overseas offline event, RAGE WORLD CHALLENGE in Bangkok, on Sunday, August 18, 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The first overseas offline event, RAGE WORLD CHALLENGE in Bangkok, had the theme of “A challenge from Japan to the ‘funny guys’ of the world,” and featured a story of VTubers, a culture that originated in Japan, “challenging and interacting with the world” through games. There was a wealth of content to enjoy all day, and a total of 1,000 spectators were thrilled by this dream collaboration that transcended borders.

The program for this event was divided into three parts: the “hololive production Stage,” the “esports Stage,” and the “Idol Live Stage.” Various projects were implemented, including a program that deepened communication through exclusive collaborations between VTubers who are popular in both Japan and Thailand, as well as a competitive program using domestic esports titles such as “PARAVOX,” “eFootball™,” and “Street Fighter 6.”

■Event details

〈hololive production stage〉

From Hololive English, “Koishi Bijou” and “Kaela Kovalskia”, who are extremely popular in Thailand, appeared and heated up the venue with an original audience participation stage where the audience joined in the talk by the two Hololivers.

Esports Stage

From Japan, “dtto.”, “Akiyuki Kohaku”, and “Allandis”, and from Thailand, “Aisha”, “Nongwan TV”, and “ZONA Ch.” participated, realizing the dream collaboration between popular Japanese and Thai Vtubers and influencers. An e-sports exchange match was held for the fighting game “Street Fighter 6”, the TPS “PARAVOX”, and the soccer game “eFootball™️”.

In the tense first match of “Street Fighter 6”, after a heated battle with both teams using special moves, the Japanese team won 3-0. Next, in “PARAVOX”, Japan continued to take the lead and won, achieving two consecutive wins. In the final match of “efootball”, the game ended in a close draw, and Japan won the overall victory with a score of 2-0.

The venue erupted in constant cheers as a series of heated battles across national borders took place, creating a frenzy from start to finish.

Idol Live Stage

Four popular Thai female idol groups, Sora Sora, Peach You, Yami Yami, and Mirai Mirai, captivated the audience with their live performances, adding a touch of glamour to the event.

The virtual shopping mall “XENO Mall,” which uses metaverse technology, recreated a shopping mall in a virtual space that made it seem as if you were in a real store, and offered limited content such as a live report from supporter Eimi Fukada, a limited resale of official merchandise that was a big hit at the RAGE STREET FIGHTER venue, and sales of official RAGE WORLD CHALLENGE T-shirts.
