Another side of Kafu, Kaika’s second single “Teddy Bear” will be released digitally on Wednesday, August 28th & the music video will premiere!

Virtual singer-songwriter Kaihana, affiliated with KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO/PHENOMENON RECORD, will release her second single “Teddy Bear” on Wednesday, August 28th, in which she also plays on acoustic guitar.

The music video, which will be released at 8pm on the same day, features high school student actor, Tono Kokoro.

Another form of Kafu, the virtual singer-songwriter “Mawarihana”, was unveiled at “Kafu 4th ONE-MAN LIVE “Kaiuta”” held at Yoyogi National Gymnasium No.1 on Sunday, January 14, 2024. As a new turning point for “Kafu”, which allows for a variety of approaches and expressions, this project will turn the impulsive feelings that well up from within her into songs.

Starting with their first appearance on “YouTube Music Weekend” on Saturday, August 24th, they will then begin to fully release music.

The first release will be the new song “Teddy Bear” released on Wednesday, August 28th.

“Teddy Bear” is a song that was posted on Maehana’s SNS with the title undisclosed, and only a video of her singing and playing the guitar. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the song. The song is based on Maehana’s real-life experiences and expresses her honest feelings.

When I first started living alone, I was still not used to my room and I was feeling uneasy. I walked and ran aimlessly, and had a strange feeling that I had become a being that had nothing to do with anything in this world. Nights without anyone to protect me were wonderful, but that lightness made me feel a little lonely.

The song, which depicts the anxiety and loneliness of living alone, was not only written and composed by Maehana herself, but also features her own participation in the production for the first time, playing the acoustic guitar.

By taking a different approach from KaFu, we will express and deliver our artistic style that pursues musicality.

Shortly after I started living alone, I often went out for walks at night.

I think it was because I hadn’t yet fully settled into my room and felt uneasy, and because being at home alone meant doing the same thing over and over again and it was boring.

When I walk or run aimlessly, soaking up the unfamiliar air of the city in my pajamas consisting of a T-shirt and shorts, I feel as if I have become a being with no connection to anything in this world.

A night where no one can protect me.

You can go home whenever you want.

That lightness makes me feel a little lonely.

That’s the kind of song it is. I want you to listen to it when you go for a walk at night.

I tried to carefully express the tension and anxiety he felt immediately after moving to Tokyo, and the sadness he felt after being left alone away from his family.

During the shoot, they played “Teddy Bear,” which helped me to empathize with the characters and dive into the mysterious world of the song.

Director Sugiyama and all the staff were really warm and welcoming, and I was able to complete the project in a relaxed and calm manner.

I was happy to be able to take part in such a wonderful production.
