~Collaboration to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Stratocaster~
Fender Custom Shop, the global musical instrument manufacturer Fender® that produces the finest guitars, and Swiss luxury watch manufacturer BVLGARI announced today the limited edition watch “BVLGARI Aluminum GMT x Fender® Limited Edition” and the Custom Shop-made electric guitar “Fender® Custom Shop Limited Edition Bvlgari Stratocaster®” to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the birth of Fender’s iconic guitar, the Stratocaster.
BVLGARI offers top-class items that express the essence of Italian style through exceptional watchmaking. Meanwhile, Fender, the world’s leading guitar manufacturer, pursues craftsmanship and innovation through the finest instruments produced by the Fender Custom Shop. Now, these two iconic brands share a passion for creating unique pieces that boast attention to detail and precision, and celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Stratocaster with watches and guitars, incorporating timeless designs that can be considered cultural icons. We deliver inspiration and connection to people through these special items that are loved by generations.
This time, BVLGARI will release the limited edition watch “BVLGARI Aluminum GMT x Fender® Limited Edition,” and Fender Custom Shop will release the “Fender® Custom Shop Limited Edition Bvlgari Stratocaster®,” created for vintage guitar collectors.
“Fender Stratocasters have been at the forefront of musical advancement and sonic exploration for the past 70 years, and we wanted to partner with a brand that has an equally rich history in its respective fields to celebrate this milestone year,” said Justin Norvell, Chief Product Officer at FMIC. “With this in mind, we are very proud to announce our collaboration with BVLGARI. Both the watch and the Stratocaster are beautifully crafted, and fans of both brands will be pleased with the work,” he continued.
Bvlgari Group CEO Jean-Christophe Babin commented, “As lovers of watches and music, it was only natural that we teamed up with Fender for a collaboration that celebrates tradition, design and innovation that transcends aesthetics. This collaboration is the fusion of two iconic legacies. The BVLGARI Aluminum GMT x Fender® Limited Edition is a precision instrument that resembles a finely tuned guitar. Reflecting the dynamic lifestyle of musicians and travelers, it features advanced GMT functionality that allows you to track time across time zones. This limited edition model, housed in the brand’s iconic aluminum and titanium case, symbolizes a journey filled with the harmony of time and sound.”
The BVLGARI Aluminum GMT x Fender® Limited Edition pays homage to the legendary Stratocaster, adopting the original colors of the iconic instrument. Limited to 1,200 pieces worldwide, this model is finished in sunburst and creamy white, a nod to Fender’s signature lacquer finish. The brown rubber bezel, second time zone (dark brown at night, creamy white during the day), and rhodium-plated and polished indexes and hands reminiscent of guitar frets make The BVLGARI Aluminum GMT a perfect match for the legendary Stratocaster. The Swiss-made mechanical caliber keeps time around the world, and the redesigned Velcro strap ensures a perfect fit for any occasion. The “Fender” engraved on the DLC-coated titanium caseback highlights the power of music to connect the world.
The Fender® Custom Shop Limited Edition Bvlgari Stratocaster®, a guitar sold in a limited quantity of 70 pieces worldwide, skillfully incorporates the original yet nostalgic design approach of the BVLGARI Aluminum GMT x Fender® Limited Edition to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Stratocaster. From the Wide-Fade Chocolate 2-Color Sunburst lacquer finish, which is an iconic specification of Fender products in the mid-50s, to the quarter-sawn maple neck with flat-laminated rosewood fingerboard, this guitar highlights the most popular features of the “Golden Age of Stratocasters”. The direct-mounted Custom Shop Hand-Wound ’54 Strat® pickup and uniquely shaped 1-ply parchment pickguard are contemporary designs that reflect the essence of BVLGARI’s collaboration watch, giving it a refreshing new aesthetic with a timeless look and feel.
Other premium features include a NOS (New Old Stock) lacquer finish, 2-piece select ash body with off-center seam, 07/54 soft “V” neck shape, 7.25-9.5″ (184-241mm) vintage compound radius fingerboard with 21 medium vintage (47095) frets, Modern Stratocaster® wiring, 5-way pickup switch, Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, wing string tree and custom-engraved BVLGARI neck plate. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity.
