Wataru Sawabe’s new song “Kimi wa Kitto Zutsu Shiranai” from his solo project Skirt was released on April 19th, and the music video was also released on YouTube.
“Kimi wa Kitto Zutsu Shiranai” is the theme song for the movie “Futekishin Lovers”, and Daigo Matsui, the director of the same movie, is the director of the music video. Kanta Sato and Yuzu Aoki from the movie cast also appear in the music video.
This work focuses on a love affair between a family restaurant clerk played by Sawabe and a female customer played by Yuna Takagi from the original work, and the story is a complex intertwining of characters played by Kanta Sato and Yuzu Aoki, who play their roles in the movie. It’s a content that you won’t be able to take your eyes off until the end.
Regarding this music video, Director Matsui said, “What started as a manga became a script and became a movie, and Skirt Sawabe-san added color to it with music. I wanted to start with manga,” he commented.
Furthermore, to commemorate the release of “Kimi wa Kita wa Kita Zutsu Shiranai”, everyone who follows/favorites Skirt’s artist page on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, LINE MUSIC, and YouTube Music will receive a wallpaper image with Skirt’s digital signature. It has been decided that a campaign will be held to give away. Please check Skirt SNS for details.
■Comment from Director Daigo Matsui
What started as a manga turned into a script and became a movie, and Skirt Sawabe-san added some color to it with music, and at the end we had him sing the song “You Will Always Know”.
So, for the music video for the theme song, I wanted to start with the manga. I wish I could help you feel like no matter how dark it is, morning will always come.
I had Mr. Takagi draw a picture for me, I asked Mr. Sawabe to do a little play, the acting club remembered the roles I had played in a movie, and the family restaurant in the middle of the night was a quiet but dream-like time.
I feel like it will be more enjoyable if you watch it after watching the movie. Of course, I would like you to enjoy the music video alone.
