"Sound! Euphonium 3" story visual ~Mismatched Youth Edition~ released!

The story visual for the currently airing TV anime “Sound! Euphonium 3” – Passing By Youth Edition – has been released.

“Sound! Euphonium” is a popular wind instrument anime series produced by Kyoto Animation. The latest in the series, the third season of the TV anime, is currently being broadcast on NHK E-Tele every Sunday from 5pm, and is attracting attention for its beautiful images, diverse music, and the realistic and harsh story of a high school wind instrument club aiming for a national gold medal in a competition.

The visual released this time features the main character, Oumae Kumiko (voiced by Kurosawa Tomoyo), Kumiko’s best friend, Kosaka Reina (voiced by Anzai Chika), and the new transfer student Kuroe Mayu (voiced by Tomatsu Haruka). Kumiko and Mayu, who have their backs turned to each other, are both euphonium players and are rivals competing for the position of soloist. Kumiko will play the soloist in the Kyoto tournament, and Mayu will play the soloist in the Kansai tournament. The club members are shaken by Kumiko’s failure to be selected as club president. While complaints emerge from within the club that the cause lies with advisor Taki Noboru, Reina, who believes in Taki’s guidance, becomes irritated and finally tells Kumiko, who says she cannot fully trust Taki, “You’re not fit to be club president.” Mayu also faces the conflict of wondering if she, a transfer student, should really be allowed to play the soloist, as she approaches the Kansai tournament. How will the relationship between these three change in the future? Will the Kitauji High School Brass Band be able to make it through to the Kansai Tournament? The TV anime “Sound! Euphonium 3” is being broadcast every Sunday at 5pm on NHK Educational TV. It is also available on NHK Plus and Lemino every Monday at noon, and on other platforms from noon on Wednesdays.
