GLAY held their 30th anniversary concert “GLAY 30th Anniversary GLAY EXPO 2024-2025” at the Belluna Dome in Saitama on June 8th and 9th.
Tickets were sold out and 60,000 people attended over the two days. The concert featured an exact reproduction of the setlist from the legendary 200,000-person concert “GLAY EXPO ’99 SURVIVAL LIVE IN MAKUHARI.” On the final day, JAY (ENHYPEN) made a surprise appearance to perform their latest song “whodunit-GLAY × JAY(ENHYPEN)-” as well as their signature song “Yuwaku,” making it a truly fitting anniversary celebration.
During the live performance, the second half of the anniversary schedule for 2024 was revealed all at once. The theme of this 30th anniversary is “GLAY EXPO”, and a new EXPO has been added to GLAY’s history.
On July 31st, which is known as GLAY Day, they will be streaming a special live concert held by the sea entitled “GLAY DAY SPECIAL “LIVE BY THE SEA””. There will be a lot going on, including their first appearance at the summer festival SUMMER SONIC, the release of their first original album in about three years “Back To The Pops”, and an arena tour with 15 shows across the country, so we hope you will continue to enjoy GLAY EXPO.
Comment from TAKURO
We, GLAY, will successfully celebrate our 30th anniversary on May 25th, 2024, and will be continuing our activities for a year under the theme of GLAY EXPO.
First up was the kickoff live show at the Belluna Dome.
I think it was an auspicious start with celebrating TERU’s birthday and welcoming JAY from ENHYPEN.
On the second day at the Belluna Dome, GLAY announced their activities for the second half of 2024, and in keeping with the theme of “solidarity” that underlies their activities, it was announced that they will be performing with many musicians this year.
Collaborating with many talented artists living today at festivals, charity events, and joint concerts gives GLAY even more energy and serves as fuel for building a future together.
The new album “Back To The Pops” will be released in October.
We, GLAY, created this album by thinking back to the pop and rock of the 80s and 90s that make us GLAY.
I would love for you to hear how GLAY has recreated the sparkling energy of that era with a modern interpretation.
An arena tour has also been decided to accompany the release of the album.
We hope you enjoy the simple lyrics and melody, as well as the performance by GLAY, who are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year.
There are even more surprises waiting in 2025, so please look forward to what GLAY has to offer in the future.
