Bedroom artist Tota has written a new song, “Aruku,” as the theme song for NetEase Games’ upcoming game, “Over Field.”
“Over Field” is an RPG where you can explore a miniature world that resembles the inside of a bottle or a clock, and enjoy a relaxing time in the town. Tota’s new song “Tsumugu,” released in February 2023, has been streamed over 80 million times so far, topped the Billboard Japan Heatseekers Songs chart for five consecutive weeks, and dominated the charts. It also won the LINE MUSIC Trend Award, which is given to the most talked-about song in 2023. Many listeners are probably familiar with the phrase “The sky is crying.”

When I wrote this song, I arranged the words as if reminiscing on my daily walks. We meet and pass many people as we walk a long road. I think we get to know ourselves little by little as we repeat fleeting contact and eternal farewell. I am happy that you touched me and this song, even for a moment, on our long walk. I’m sure I will continue to compare myself to people whose destinations I don’t know, but I sing about wanting not to compare myself to them, and while telling myself that, I hope that one day things will go the way I want them to. Even if it takes a long time.
Overview of the game “Over Field”
“Over Field” is an RPG where you can freely explore a miniature world that imitates the real world. The visuals are particularly noteworthy, with not only the character designs but also the gameplay screen being expressed with beautiful graphics that make you feel like you’ve entered an animated movie.
In this game, players will belong to a research institute called “Rota Laboratory” and explore the mysterious and enigmatic space “Overfield”. In the Overfield, a mysterious world like a miniature spreads out, with teacups over 10 meters tall and buildings only a few millimeters in size.
As the leader of an exploration unit, the player will work together with a group of unique “salvagers” to uncover the mysteries of the Overfield by battling enemies, collecting items, and solving puzzles and other mini-games.
