Dance vocal group 2xFE’s new song “Timeline” is now available for streaming! “We want you to watch it while thinking of your summer memories” – the music video has been released!

The dance and vocal group 2xFE’s (pronounced: Two F E) third single, “Timeline,” was available for digital download from June 19th, and the music video was released at 9pm on the same day.

2xFE is a dance and vocal group made up of former trainees who appeared on “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN” and “YOSHIKI SUPERSTAR PROJECT X.” The new song “Timeline” was released on TikTok on June 12th, and pre-add/pre-save was started. There are already many videos posted on TikTok by the members themselves, including those posted by fans.

This song was produced by sound producer ZEN, who also provided music for BE:FIRST’s JUNON’s solo song “Nova Flame ~One of the BE:ST-01 JUNON~”. The refreshing melody is a catchy, light dance sound, and the clear twin vocals of Rui and Rio, who sing about the vague memories of a summer, are linked in a sad way.

The newly released music video was directed by member Syogo, who was involved in the camerawork, cuts, composition, costume production, and even took part in the location scouting. It features each member’s favorite personal items and shows off their special skills, and is a departure from the previous direction of “sharp dance moves” and “coolness as the main focus”. The completed music video has a “bustling” home party feel, showcasing the members’ friendship and charms that fans don’t usually get to see.

The members themselves wrote the rap lyrics for “Timeline,” and not only did they incorporate the empathy they wanted to convey into the lyrics, but they also personally went to the production of the music video and directed it. With summer approaching, keep an eye on 2xFE’s upcoming activities.

Comment from Syogo

The new song “Timeline” has a different atmosphere from their previous songs, it’s a summer tune that’s easy to get into and makes you feel the summer!

The lyrics themselves are a slightly sad love song, and we members were particularly particular about the content of the rap lyrics we wrote, so we wanted the music video to convey that same meaning.

For that reason, I myself participated in location scouting and was also involved in directing the music video, including camera work, cutting, and composition.

After talking with the director, we were able to express the lively atmosphere and friendship that 2xFE has on a daily basis through a home party.

I also produced the costumes, as I did for “Don’t Let Me Down.”

We tried styling that makes the most of each member’s unique style by combining a refreshing atmosphere with checked shirts as the focal point, and a slightly nostalgic Y2K fashion.

We hope that you will watch this “Timeline” and think back on your summer memories.

profile

The dance and vocal group “2xFE” (pronounced “Two F E”) is made up of five members, Rui, Ayumu, Hikari, Rio and Syogo, who have all been active individually in various genres as choreographers, pianists, guitarists, beauty YouTubers and rappers.

The members are former trainees who appeared on “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN” and “YOSHIKI SUPERSTAR PROJECT X,” and the group’s name conveys the meaning “-Future From East End- Aiming to send music from Japan, a country far to the east, to the world.”

The main vocals are Rui, with her silky, catchy high-pitched voice, and Rio, who is bilingual in Japanese and English and has a sexy singing voice. In addition, the double raps of Ayumu and Hikari, who are heavy with low tones, and Syogo, who is active as a dancer in many stages, combine to create an original performance that is very appealing.

In October 2023, they made their major debut with “Pentatonic Vibe,” the ending theme for the TBS/MBS nationwide network program “Pre-Battle!!.” The music video, which features high-speed dance performance, has been viewed 1.3 million times on YouTube. In February 2024, they released their second single, “Don’t Let Me Down,” and announced that they would hold their debut solo concert, the largest capacity for the group, on September 21st.
