It has been revealed that singer-songwriter Ai Higuchi has written a new theme song for the movie “Who’s That Girl?”, which will be released on July 19th.

The newly written song “Dare” will be released as a digital single on July 17th.

This latest work is by director Takashi Shimizu, who has been a driving force in J-horror, having worked on the smash hit “Ju-on” series and whose Hollywood remake of “The Grudge” was released worldwide, making it the first Japanese director to top the US box office. This work inherits the DNA of “Minna no Uta,” which was talked about last year as a “truly scary horror movie.” It is a school horror film in which “that girl” who shouldn’t be there in a classroom of five boys and girls taking supplementary classes during a certain summer vacation causes a strange phenomenon. This is Shibuya Nagisa’s first leading role in a film and her first attempt at acting, and she plays Kimijima Honoka, a substitute teacher in charge of the summer vacation supplementary classes. The students taking the extra lessons are played by a fresh cast of actors, including Hayase Ikue, who was selected through auditions to co-star alongside Aragaki Yui in the hit film “Ikoku Nikki,” currently in theaters; Yamatoki Satoshi, who voiced the main character in Miyazaki Hayao’s “How Do You Live?”, which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature; Araki Hiha, who played the young version of Arata Mackenyu, who played the series’ most fearsome enemy, Yukishiro Enishi, in “Rurouni Kenshin: The Final/The Beginning;” Imamori Maya, who is about to appear in the fifth installment of the “My Graduation” project, a young talent discovery and training project that has garnered overwhelming support from Gen Z, “The Two Hearts: A Town of Snow,”; and Aoi Shun, who played the childhood of the yakuza played by Suzuki Ryohei in “The Blood of Wolves Level 2.” In addition, the cast includes a diverse cast including actor Shota Sometani, who was the first Japanese to win the Marcello Mastroianni Award (Best New Actor) at the 68th Venice International Film Festival for his role in the film “Himizu,” in the role of the lover of Kimijima Honoka, played by Shibuya Nagisa, and who has appeared in a number of popular works in recent years, such as “Sanctuary” (Netflix) and “Brush Up Life” (NTV), as well as Matsuo Satoru, Ohara Masako (Kuwabata Ohara), and Makita Sports.

A special trailer using the theme song “Dare,” which colors the world of Shimizu Takashi, has also been released.

The video, with the lyrics and narration repeating “Who, who is that girl?” “Who, who is that girl?”, stirs up a sense of fear in the viewer as the appearance of “that girl” gradually becomes clear.

Ai Higuchi has just finished a long tour with her latest album “Miseisenjou” released in January 2024. The tour, which included four solo overseas performances in Hong Kong, Taipei, Guangzhou, and Shanghai, as well as three additional performances, was a huge success in each location. In May and June, she performed her first solo live show in three cities in Germany, and in July she will appear at a festival in Shanghai and perform her first live show in Jakarta, Indonesia, so she is gaining more attention both at home and abroad.

On December 14th, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the release of their first nationwide album “Sanjumansen” in 2014, they will hold a one-night only special solo concert HIGUCHIAI ALL TIME BEST LIVE “Even if I’m not feeling well, let’s meet again.”
