Setsuko (Kuuhaku Gokko) will be performing the opening and ending theme songs for the TV anime “Mecha Ude,” which will begin airing in October. Both the opening and ending songs were composed, arranged, and produced by Hiroyuki Sawano.
The TV anime “Mecha-Ude” is an original animation work directed and conceived by animation artist “Okamoto” and produced by the up-and-coming Fukuoka-based animation production company “TriF Studio”. The story depicts the adventures and battles of Hikaru, a middle school boy who lives an ordinary life, and Alma, an “arm-shaped” mechanical lifeform called “Mecha-Ude” that can move by “delising” (bonding) with humans.
In the newly released third PV, the ending theme “karma” by Setsuko (Kuuhaku Gokko) was revealed for the first time, and it was also decided that the opening theme “VORTEX” will also be performed by Setsuko (Kuuhaku Gokko). Both the opening and ending themes were composed, arranged, and produced by Hiroyuki Sawano, and Setsuko’s singing voice, which combines kindness and strength, effectively colors the work. Details of the songs will be released in the future, so please look forward to it.
Furthermore, an advance screening of episodes 1-3 of the TV anime will be held at United Cinema Toyosu on September 28th, allowing viewers to watch it earlier than anywhere else. After the screening, there will be a talk show with Hikaru’s Toshiyuki Toyonaga, Alma’s Tomokazu Sugita, Aki’s Yu Shimamura, and Director Okamoto, with Matsuyama Hiroshi of CyberConnect2, Inc., who is the general supervisor, acting as MC. Tickets will be available from August 9th, so please apply now.
With just 3 months left until the broadcast of the TV anime “Mecha Ude,” and the theme song by Setsuko (Kuuhaku Gokko), be sure to keep an eye out for future updates.
Setsuko (blank play) Comment
I have been in charge of singing the opening and ending songs for the TV anime “Mecha Ude”, “VORTEX” and “karma”.
In terms of singing the song, the discussions with Sawano, Benjamin, cAnON., and Akane Shizukurin were fresh and I think the result is really cool.
The two songs are contradictory, like two sides to “Mecha Ude,” but while they seem to be complete opposites, they are similar in some ways, and it’s as if one exists because of the other, which is a strange way of being that it fits into the story of Mecha Ude and makes them all the more indispensable songs.
We have also heard Director Okamoto’s passion for Mecha-Ude, and we are really looking forward to the film’s release.
