Singer-songwriter A-ko (pronounced: Eiko) has released the music video for “Borderline” from her first album “GENE,” released on July 10th, on her official YouTube channel.
This song was produced using A-ko’s characteristic whisper voice as well as a different singing style to her usual low voice, making it a song that expresses the feelings of wavering between boundaries in love in a more realistic way.
The music video was produced by Taiwanese artist Nin. A character based on A-ko appears in the video, depicting the misunderstanding between a man and a woman, creating a worldview that matches the song.
The first album “GENE” is her first full album, which includes “Atashi no Zenbu wo Aisenai”, which attracted attention as the opening theme of TV Tokyo’s Drama 24 “Hatsukoi, Zarari”, her major debut single “Wakusei”, which was played on 36 AM and FM stations nationwide, and five new songs “good morning”, “Beige and Pink”, “miss u”, “Tsumaran”, and “Borderline”, condensing a-ko’s worldview into a total of 13 songs. The Blu-ray “MACHINE” also includes newly shot acoustic live footage and behind-the-scenes footage from the “SXSW” stage held in Texas, USA in March.
