The first live photos and a mini report of the Kanagawa performance have arrived! Keita Tachibana: "I'm really happy to be able to deliver this 'Nostalgia' performance to so many people."

Dance and vocal group w-inds. announced a third additional performance for their ongoing live tour “w-inds. LIVE TOUR 2024 “Nostalgia”” during the MC of their Kanagawa performance held at Kanagawa Kenmin Hall on August 17. The third additional performance will be held at NHK Hall in Tokyo on October 9, bringing the tour to a total of 15 performances, including two cities overseas.

As the title of this tour, “Nostalgia,” suggests, the set list is made up of only early songs from w-inds.’s 23-year history. It is said that the fans can experience the foundation of w-inds.’s strength as a dance vocal group, and each venue is a huge success.

The momentum was also increasing at the Kanagawa concert, where a large audience thronged the venue, Kanagawa Prefectural Hall, and the venue was filled with excitement. Among the fans holding the tour goods penlights, there were male fans, which have been increasing in number in recent years, and parents and children, and you could feel the wide-ranging appeal and history of w-inds.

As this large-scale tour is still in the early stages, it is not possible to report on everything, but we would like to report on a few songs that have been officially announced in advance by w-inds.

The excitement in the venue was already building before the show started, with the glow of the penlights shining brightly across the venue. The moment the volume of the pre-show music increased, cheers rang out, creating an uplifting feeling that the concert was about to begin.

In the song “Feel the Fate,” released as w-inds.’s second single in 2001, the members danced with joy and the pop appeal of the song immediately drew the audience into the stage of w-inds.. Naturally, the singing voices were captivating, but the sharp dancing they showed together with the dancers was also captivating.

In “Endless Moment,” w-inds. incited the audience with their music from the stage as if they were ready to keep the excitement going. “Endless Moment” was included in “w-inds.~1st message,” released in 2001. The scene where Tachibana Keita and Chiba Ryohei sang back to back felt like a beautiful blend of the charm of w-inds. today and the power of their original songs. I felt the immeasurable energy of w-inds.’s live performance, which instantly raised the excitement of the audience to its peak.

In “Another Days,” released as their fifth maxi single in 2002, they sang lyrics expressing sadness and heartbreak in a gentle manner, a stark departure from the pop stage. Some in the audience were seen shedding tears of emotion. It was a song that made you realize that not only w-inds. but also their fans have been walking together with these songs for about 20 years since their release.

Of course, I would also like to mention “Forever Memories.” This song, which needs no further explanation, was w-inds.’s debut song. It was their first single, released on the memorable day of March 14, 2001. The moment the intro started, cheers rose from the audience, but the fans immediately looked at the stage with serious eyes, hoping to hear the two singing. The gentle voices of Tachibana Keita and Chiba Ryohei, who seemed to be kindly accepting the fans, filled the entire venue. Before the big chorus of the song, Tachibana Keita turned the microphone towards the audience, and the venue erupted in a chorus. It was impressive to see the two members looking at the audience with genuine joy.

During the encore MC, the members announced information about a third additional performance, which elicited huge cheers from the audience.

First, Tachibana Keita said, “We have an announcement to make!”, and Chiba Ryohei announced, “We have decided to hold a third additional performance!”, to which the audience roared in joy. Chiba Ryohei then announced, “The third additional performance will be held on October 9th at NHK Hall in Tokyo!”, and the venue was filled with thunderous applause and cheers.

Tachibana Keita said, “I’m really happy to be able to bring this ‘Nostalgia’ performance to so many people again. There may be more to come!”, and Chiba Ryohei expressed his joy, saying, “We’re making a triumphant return to NHK Hall! Please come to the venue!”

This performance made us realize that 23 years is not just a number, but the years that w-inds. and their fans have spent together. And it is the power of the songs that supported w-inds.’s debut, and more than anything, the fact that they have treasured those songs that is the reason why “Nostalgia” is so popular now.
