It has been announced that the latest album by jazz fusion super guitarist Lee Ritenour and virtuoso keyboardist and film composer Dave Grusin, “Brazil,” will be released on October 23rd. The album has been produced using a process that is extremely rare for SACD, making the most of the benefits of analog and digital.
This is a groundbreaking attempt to make it possible to experience the wonderful sound of lacquer records, which until now only music producers have experienced in the studio, on SACD and CD players. Records are usually manufactured from lacquer records through several processes, so it is inevitable that they will contain small noises. However, by playing the lacquer record itself and creating a digital master, the texture of analog records, including their rich overtones, can be transferred to SACD without any deterioration in sound, so you can continue to enjoy them afterwards.
It goes well with “Brazil,” which also features many acoustic instruments and vocals, and allows for a more enjoyable performance. Also, because it is a hybrid disc, it is possible to enjoy a similar texture on a regular CD player.
In addition, the dates for the release tour of the album “Brazil” have been announced. It will be a nationwide tour with Lee Ritenour, Dave Grusin, and Brazilian treasure Ivan Lins. This fall, enjoy the high quality sound of SACD Hybrid, experience the live performance of top musicians, and enjoy the luxurious long nights.
