The nine-member fusion unit SUPER★DRAGON’s latest song, “Little Lovers,” has been chosen as the theme song for the TV anime “Lord and Dog,” which will begin airing on TOKYO MX and other channels in October.
“Lord and Dog” is a popular comedy manga that has been serialized on the web comic “COMIC Polaris” operated by Flex Comics since October 2021.
The story has received many reviews, including “The depiction of the corgi is super cute. The contrast with the stern and intimidating lord is surreal,” and “Both the lord and the dog are incredibly cute. The lord himself is a scary man with a demonic face, but somehow he’s cute.” The story is full of humor, and has been well-received.
Meanwhile, a promotional video for the TV anime “Lord and Dog” has been released, depicting the peaceful daily life of a duo consisting of a tough-looking but kind-hearted fallen samurai named Tono and a plump and charming dog. It also revealed that there are actually four “Lords” in the series, along with the cast. The cast is headlined by an all-star cast of Otsuka Akio, Sugita Tomokazu, Aiba Masaki, and Takeuchi Shunsuke. Each episode will air a different version of each of the four Lords, meaning you can enjoy four different versions of “Lord and Dog” every week.
The theme song “Little Lovers” was written, composed, and arranged by cinema staff’s Mishima Sohei, and is a mid-tempo number that fits the story.
SUPER★DRAGON will be releasing their second major single “Downforce” on September 11th, and fans will be excited to hear new songs one after another in the fall. For now, we look forward to hearing more information on the release date and more.
