GLAY will release their latest album “Back To The Pops” on October 9th. The song “Beautiful like you” has been selected as the theme song for the HBC Hokkaido Broadcasting drama series “Mikasa no King to Tokasukokunin”.
The lead roles in this work are promising young actors Mahiro Takasugi and Tokio Emoto. Based on a bittersweet love story and the uproar caused by local young people who find it difficult to live in modern society at Bon Odori, this film is about thinking about a new way for the region, and creating a region and people where young people grow together with the town. An original story with a theme.
The theme song, “Beautiful like you,” has been performed live, but it has never been released as a sound source, and has been passed down as a “hidden masterpiece” among fans.
It is a majestic ballad that makes you feel sincere love, and is a song that foreshadows GLAY’s new signature song in the future.

Although this work has been performed live, it has not been officially released until now, and has been cherished.
When I read the script for the drama, I thought that the worldview of the song and the story of the drama were a perfect match, so I accepted the offer from HBC, a media company that represents GLAY’s hometown of Hokkaido.
The new album is packed with GLAY’s Pop from various angles.

When I listened to the song, I felt the original scenery that reminded me of the time when I was filming on location in Mikasa City, Hokkaido for about a month.
