MUTE BEAT’s 1st to 3rd albums and live albums by MUTE BEAT, a solitary dub band led by Kazufumi Kodama (Kodama Kazufumi), who has asserted their music with a cool stance of “from Tokyo” while using jazz, ska, dub, etc. as their material. A total of 5 titles, including Japanese’s solo “Return of the Dread Beat”, will be released in analog format on November 3, 2024, “Record Day 2024”.
To commemorate the release of the analog version, it has been decided that a treasured poster panel exhibition will be held at Tower Records Shibuya store’s 6th floor “TOWER VINYL”. Nine posters will be on display, including rare concert announcement posters created by OVERHEAT MUSIC in the 1980s, as well as the MUTE BEAT special issue of the free newspaper “Riddim”. These posters were printed in small numbers for advance announcements at concert venues, etc., and are a valuable exhibit that historically connects art, music, live performances, and records from Tokyo in the 1980s, so don’t miss it.

Release information
This record was created by British engineer Dave Turner, who has worked on many of the dub works of legends such as Lee Perry and Joe Gibbs, and has been faithfully cut to the original master, with an overwhelming focus on deep bass. Prior to the analog records, all five works will be reissued as high-quality UHQ CDs on October 30th.
