Bialystocks releases music video for “Mirror”, the theme song for the movie “Route 29”! Vocalist Motosora Hoki cuts up and produces the main footage of the movie!

On November 7th, Bialystocks released the music video for “Mirror,” the theme song for the movie “Route 29.”

“Mirror” is the theme song for the movie “Route 29,” which will be released nationwide on November 8th, and is included in the third album “Songs for the Cryptids,” which was released on October 2nd. Bialystocks is also in charge of the soundtrack for this film.

This work is a work created by vocalist Motosora Hoki, who also works as a film director, using footage from the original film of “Route 29.” Regarding the MV he worked on, Hagimoto said, “The process of editing little by little, as if slowly following Haru and Tombo, was to focus on the epic journey of the heart rather than the actual distance traveled by the two. I did,” he said.

“Route 29” is the latest work from director Yusuke Morii, who won numerous awards including the 27th Kaneto Shindo Gold Award for “Kochira Amiko” and captivated many movie fans with his debut film. Inspired by the poet Taichi Nakao’s “Route 29, Liberation,” he traveled for about a month along National Route 29, the straight road that connects Himeji to Tottori, which is the setting for the movie, and wrote the script. The original story revolves around the main character, Tombo, who doesn’t often communicate with others. He goes on a trip with Haru, an eccentric girl, and encounters various things, and his bond with Haru gradually deepens. This is a road movie that describes the time when a person’s heart is filled with emotions of joy and sadness.

Bialystocks is currently on his biggest live house tour, the “Songs for the Cryptids Tour,” which will tour seven locations across the country. The PENNYLANE24 performance on November 9th and the tour final performance at Zepp DiverCity (TOKYO) on November 29th were sold out. Tickets for the Zepp Namba (OSAKA) performance on November 17th are on sale at each play guide.

Comment from Motosora Hoki (Bialystocks)

I made the music video for “Mirror” by borrowing the main story from “Route 29.”

The process of editing little by little as if slowly following Haru and Tombo,

It was about looking at the emotional journey that was bigger than the actual distance traveled by the two of them.

Please go to the theater to see the whole journey.

Bialystocks Profile

The group was formed in 2019 after a live performance screening of the movie Haruneko, directed by Sora Hokimoto and co-produced by Shinji Aoyama and Takenori Sento. In 2021, he will release his first full album “Bialystox”. In 2022, he was selected for Spotify’s “RADAR: Early Noise 2022” and released his second full album “Quicksand” from IRORI Records / PONYCANYON in November of the same year. The combination of vocalist Motosora Hoki’s soulful and relaxed singing voice, folky and warm melody, and key Go Kikuchi’s jazz-based instruments that freely cross genres is universal. It is said to be radical at the same time.
