At the age of four, the son of a musician father, he appeared on stage at the Apollo Theater in Harlem at the urging of Dinah Washington, and decided to become a professional singer.
She began her career as a studio musician in her teens and later became the queen of the New York studio scene. Patti’s voice can be heard behind everyone from Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, James Brown and Joe Cocker to Bette Midler, Roberta Flack, Luther Vandross and Diana Ross.
He made his solo debut with “End of a Rainbow” on the CTI label and left behind numerous works. After that, he transferred to God Father’s Quincy Jones’ Quest label, where he had hits such as “Baby Come To Me”, a duet with James Ingram, and “How Do You Keep the Music Playing?”.
