Tetsuji Hayashi will reproduce and produce unreleased songs left by Miki Matsubara during her lifetime and will be distributed on December 5th! The MV will also be released on the same day!

Miki Matsubara, who sang the city pop masterpiece “Midnight Door~stay with me,” released her unreleased song “Sky Restaurant” on December 5th.

The song was written by Yumi Arai and composed by Kunihiko Murai, and is known as a hit with the chorus group Hi-Fi Set, and is also recognized as a sampling source overseas. This time, a new arrangement was created by city pop masters Tetsuji Hayashi and Yasuo Otani, utilizing only the vocal tracks left on the multi-tape stored in the warehouse.

Regarding this work, Hayashi said, “The song I was given the responsibility to produce and reproduce as an unreleased sound source by Miki Matsubara was “Sky Restaurant,” a hit from this Hi-Fi set. We aimed to construct a new arrangement by wiping out all of the demo sound sources at the time, which had a popular pop-like taste, except for her voice. During that process, I had a microphone and listened to Miki-chan’s voice and breathing, and there were moments when I felt sad for the reality that she was no longer here. However, that feeling gradually changed to the joy of creation as the colors changed to pop. By combining Yumin and composer Kunihiko Murai’s timeless masterpiece with my bass arrangement and Yasuo Otani’s sound design, Miki Matsubara’s new “new song” was born.”

Additionally, the newly produced music video released on the same day was created by Miki Matsubara’s cousin, the filmmaker Tsuyoshi Matsubara, and stars Miki Matsubara’s cousin Moka Matsubara, who is active as an actor.
